idealshape-rating, Ideal Shape Reviews, Meal Replacement Drinks

When we launched this site four years ago, we wanted to find the top meal replacement shakes to recommend to our readers. Each year we update our shake reviews and research new shakes. Our top three shakes have switched around a bit, but IdealShape continues to be rated the highest. IdealShape has improved their shake in that time. One of those improvements is they are now gluten-free.

Here is why IdealShake has been rated number one:

Value

10.0

One of our favorite things about meal replacement shakes is they can save you money. If each serving of the shake costs you $1.50 or less and you compare that with the meal you are replacing, a shake can pay for itself. IdealShake can be purchased for as low as $1.33 per serving. That’s a steal in comparison to many shakes. Anything under $1.50 per meal is going to get a score of 10. It also helps that they have a 30-day money back guarantee.

Hunger Blockers

10.0

IdealShape uses a combination of fiber and a hunger blocker called “Slendesta” for appetite suppression. Slendesta is an all-natural potato protein extract which helps your brain release CCK (Cholecystokinin) into your body which is the hormone that tells you that you are full. Also, the 5 grams of fiber will help fill you up physically. In our personal experience with drinking the shake, our hunger stayed under control for 3 to 4 hours which got us to our next meal. Not only were we not hungry, but many of us felt that we had more energy.

Nutrition

9.7

Nutritionally this shake does everything it’s supposed to do. It gives you 11 grams of protein per serving and 50% of your RDI in 20 vitamins and minerals. It only contains 1 gram of sugar and has 5 grams of fiber to promote general health. All of this at only 120 calories per shake gives you plenty of room for mix-ins if you want to take the shake and turn it into a meal replacement smoothie.

Taste

9.5

The IdealShape shake comes in two basic flavors: chocolate and vanilla. It’s hard to ask for variety when these two flavors are the most popular, but we’re going to go ahead and do it. IdealShape, get some more flavors! We say this not because we didn’t like the shake, but actually the opposite–they were delicious. The chocolate was preferred over the vanilla by most of our staffers, but many enjoyed the vanilla just as much. We would love to see what they could do with a berry, or some other flavor.

If you’re feeling a little bored of drinking the shake constantly, they do have free smoothie recipe book that we found. We subtracted a few points for want of more variety but offering free recipes earned them some brownie points!

Update: Okay, so we let IdealShape know about our reviews and the positive comments from our readers, and they were so appreciative with the praise that they are offering a special deal to all of our readers! So go ahead and check out their meal replacement shakes. Follow that link and use MRSR as a coupon code to get $5 OFF any product package that contains their meal replacement shake.  You’re welcome.

  1. Thanks for the article. Years ago, I lost 20lbs using Michael Thurmond Six Week Body Makeover. I’ve maintained my weight over the past 6 years. I gave birth to my son in Janauary 2009 and I lost about 50lbs of baby fat over 6 months following the Six Week Body Makeover again. The principles are the same; they never change. However, the difficult thing with that program is that you constantly have to keep food prepared. With me now having a 2 year old child it is not that easy to keep food prepared while working a full-time job.

I recently started looking at buying some meal replacement drinks so I will not have to worry about keeping food prepared as much. I will be able to supplement 2 meals a day with the drink and have 1 balanced meal while continuing to exercise regularly. I just have a few lbs to lose so I can get toned.

So I’ll give IdealShape a try for a month and see what happens.

    • These reviews have been very helpful! I ordered the vanilla flavor and mixed it with water and it was good. When I mixed with ice, frozen blueberries, and bananas it was delicious! Thick, creamy, and filling! My new on-the-go breakfast.

      • I used almond milk and a cup of frozen peaches this morning and that was very good and filling! Think this is going to work after all!

        • Hello! I am desperate to loss my overweight, 30 pounds :(
At the same time do not want to make a wrong first step into it, so I lost my time, my first motivation in years, and end-up even more frustrated. Where do I get the shakes? I appreciate your response.

          • Our town is having an “I CAN” program beginning next week. My daughter & I have signed up and it’s with the ViSalus 90 day program and we are seriously overweight. I am really interested in purchasing the IdealShape products now that I have read the reviews and comments. I guess we could start with that and then change at a later date. My husband is diabetic and I am hoping to encourage him to get on the program as well. Thank you so much for your comments and reviews. I will definitely continue to look at the current comments.

Ideal chocolate bars taste like a wonderful treat and they are GREAT! You might be interested in checking out the calorie intake, it is a little high but it blocked hunger for about 2hrs for me. I crave chocolate and it is a wonderful fix.

  2. Love these shakes!! I am mixing mine with Almond milk and a TBSP of PB2 . I have tasted the vanilla and the chocolate and they are both delish. I honestly think these are the best tasting shakes I have tried!! I look forward to creating some fun “mixers” for them so I won’t get bored. But as a peanut butter lover, the PB2 is a great fit for me to add in to the shakes.

  3. Thank you for all your reviews. This site is the perfect place for picking the right meal replacement shake.

  4. Thank you Mrs. R! I’m so glad I found this site.

With this review, I was finally able to find a product that was good that I could afford. I ordered their shake and I lost 12 lbs in the first two weeks. I’m sure a lot of it was water weight, because after that I started to struggle a little bit.

When I called them they suggested I try their CDs to go along with the shakes and they have helped soooo much! I’m now only 5 lbs away from my goal weight and not only are the shakes terrific, but I’m living a lot healthier with the help of the program.

I recommend this product to anyone trying to lose weight. And while the links here send you to just the shakes, their whole program is awesome and we’re not talking about jumping up to $350 a month like a bunch of the other guys. I think the shakes dropped to $40 and then the CDs were $20 and that was it. Everything else was free includes. If you’re trying to stay away from caffeine like me, the Resverashape isn’t the best, but that’s just me.

I have just been told my blood sugar is 138 and I must get it down or have to go on diabetic medication. I need to lose 20 lbs. Is this product recommended for people with high blood sugar to help them lose weight?

    0
    • Any product that keeps their sugar low is going to be good for someone trying to lose weight and at risk for diabetes. However, consulting your doctor about your weight loss shake is always necessary.

I like the site it offers the readers a way to read and understand about the many meal replacement products available. I am curious about your credentials, you mention many years of fitness and health training. What does that mean? have you earned a degree in the health sciences? Also, I tried to read the label of your top rated meal replacement and could not find it available on their site. Would you direct me to the location of that information, perhaps a link that takes me directly to a pdf of the label. Looking forward to your response. Tim Licensed and Certified Health Educator.

        • Mrs. R

Just found the label, no need to respond to that question, thanks, Tim

          • Hey, Mrs. R

Nice to know, you might want to put that on your website somewhere, sounds like you are proud of the team. Why not promote the fact that you have such a dynamic team assembled. Just a thought.

            0
        • It looks like the $40 is if you buy the big bulk package. They discount the tubs if you buy more at one time.

  6. I found this site by accident, however I’m glad I did! I was looking into additional information on Right Size Smoothies, which brought me to these great reviews! I’m very busy therefore meal replacement drinks would be a big help for me, in addition to weight loss. Seeing your rating on IdealShape has change my mind about purchasing Right Size Smoothies. Since IdealShape is ranked #1 on your list and received such high marks in all area.

Thank you, I will give IdealShape a try as well.

    • Don’t waste your money on Right Size smoothies. They are just an expensive rip off. You can go to any health food store and by Whey protein powder and get the same thing for a lot less money if fact you can by it at Walmart.

      0
    • Right size smoothies are REALLY GREAT TASTING …However the fiber in it really hurt my stomach. This is why I’m on this site poking around for my”round” solution. Any plan that includes hypnosis is also an indication that the company knows what their doing.

I found your website while looking for information on the Right Size smoothies. Thank you so much for the wonderful information you provide. I am very sensitive to stimulants, and reading reviews and ingredient breakdown has me realizing that Right Size is the wrong fit for me. This is the third day of perusing your site to find what I need. The reviews are extraordinarily helpful – but most important to me is the nutritional values, ingredients, and flavor!! Again Thank-you Mrs. R!!

  7. Hi,, Has anyone out there used this product??
    What were your results?

    0
    • I have tried. It is tasty for something “healthy”. Vanilla w/rootbeer extract is a fav. Or the chocolate with mint flavor. The variety makes it easy to keep using the shakes. I prefer vanilla for both flavor and versatility.
I wasn’t looking to lose weight, just wanted a way to grab something quickly for breakfast and lunch since my timeline is FRANTIC to say the least. I was thrilled to discover this product, and yes, it is tasty, although I do add flavorings.

      0
      • I think he wants to know about results as far as weight lose. We already heard how great they taste. Did you lose weight or maybe I’m confused & looking at the wrong product for weight loss. Not one person seems to talk about results.

        0
        • Actually if you look at it a lot of people have lost weight in the first few weeks, the problem is we’re not getting people to come back to the site and comment again after being on the program for a month or two. (Other than MLMs because…well, you know) we’re bouncing around ideas of how to get people to come back and let us know how they’re doing on the products they’ve chosen from our site, but nothing in stone yet.

THIS IS A FABULOUS SITE! I haven’t found another place for such a varied wealth of information AND a forum inclusion anywhere else.

Because you are so valuable to the manufacturers of the products, perhaps they could give you some freebie coupons that you could pass on to your Readers at the 1, 2, 3 month junctions to help measure their progress in the process?

Example: “$5 Off Product A” – Month 1. Come back in Month 2 for a coupon & a free “__” after posting your results.

OR, what about offering a before & after photo page? People will surely come back to share their success stories & motivate us all!

          • My husband and I have been doing two shakes a day for just over a month. We are happy with the results. The pounds and inches are coming off slow and steady. No huge weight loss in a short time, but we are seeing results. We didn’t gain the weight over night so don’t expect to lose it that fast. My husband has stopped snoring and is no longer retaining water in his ankles. We have not felt deprived at all with the shakes. I put Naked Juice in mine. Mango is best!

            5
          • I was looking for reviews on Rightsize smoothie and fell upon this site. glad i did it totally helped and gave me other options to look into. I have now just ordered IdealShape! After using it for a month i will come back and leave feedback on results. wish me luck :)

            0
    • I’ve been using them for about 6 weeks now and have lost 5 lbs so I’m thrilled. I only use one shake a day at lunch because they’re so easy to take to work with me. The first week I noticed that I would get hungry long before I got home from work and so I would pig out but it didn’t seem to affect the weightloss at all. Now my body seems to have gotten used to eating a smaller lunch so I don’t have that problem any more and the weight seems to be coming off at about a steady 1 lb per week. I couldn’t be happier.
My husband is using it too and he has lost a few lbs as well.
I’d love to try some of the recipe suggestions on here but, honestly, I love the chocolate shakes, as is. When I’m feeling super saucy I use milk instead of water. It’s amazingly close to a milk shake. Maybe after a few months I’ll get bored but not yet!
      Best of luck to you!

I’m so happy you rated IdealShape #1.

I did my own comparison about a year ago using IdealShape, Slim Fast, Advocare, GNC Lean, and Metafast. IdealShape DEFINITELY won in the taste test. I also calculated the cost and compared nutrition. These are absolutely the best. I’m trying to talk my friends into them. I’m glad I have your website as further evidence.

    Thanks for the reviews!!

I am in the same boat with comparing Visalus and Idealshape. Please post your results and experience.

      • Tye Gilson says:

It is important to remember that Mrs. R rated the visalus low due to the fact that it is marketed through mlm… The shakes themselves were discredited due to the fact that this team does not care for mlm companies and how they work.. they talk about this shake for its low percentage of vitamins and protiens 30% daily value per serving.. but what you really need to concern yourself with is what your body is absorbing from the shake.. i did not see them talk about the ingredients enough.. the visalus shakes are designed to be the most absorbant shakes you can get on the market.. i believe that they are just that for the majority of people but everyone is different.. im not saying that there arent any other good shakes out there. im just upset that the visalus wasnt given a proper rating.. ive seen what it can and has done for people first hand and noone can argue with its success in the weight loss market

        0
        • We didn’t rate this lower because it’s an MLM. We’ve clearly stated why we rated it the way we did.

All the shakes on our site have success stories, but I’m sorry you felt our opinion was false. It is our opinion and we stand by it.

          0
          • I’m glad that I found your site. I was going to try the Body by Vi Challenge and after reading this I will try the IdealShape. I have to say that the Visalus sellers helped make my decision. I read your reviews and seen nothing wrong with your comments about their shakes and they are relentlessly arguing with you. They are acting ridiculous and are proving your point about the pyramid scheme companies. I want no part of that cult.

I will let you know how the IdealShape shakes work for me. I want to lose 20-25 pounds.

            0
        • Shakeology is an MLM and they rated it very high. Sorry, your arguement doesn’t hold

      • Patrick T says:

My wife tried the Visalus shakes because they were being promoted by the gym where we are members. The main problem was this:

The appetite suppressent is NOT built into the powder. It must be purchased separately.

The IdealShape powder already contains the hunger-blocker, which was the main reason for us.

        0
    • I have tried the Vi shakes and prefer Idealshape!

      0
      • I tried the Visalua shakes and didn’t lose any weight. They also didn’t curb my appetite at all.

        0
    • I tried the Visalus shake as well. I wasn’t crazy about the taste…i found it way too sweet and I hated the fact that they were more concerned w/ me selling it to others than actually using the product. I lost couple pounds but probably because it gave me a stomach ache and i ended up spending days in the rest room

  11. Has anyone tried this product that has a sensitive stomach?

    0
    • Hi Katie,

There’s lots of different types when it comes to a sensitive stomach. A lot of these products have money back guarantees so your best bet (unless you know specific ingredients that cause you issues) might be to just test a few out and see.

      0
    • I don’t know about sensitive stomachs, but since drinking one shake a day, for a few days I can see that it has regulated my digestive system in a good way. I am sensitive to taste and thought I wouldn’t be able to drink this, but it’s almost good, definitely tolerable and something I can easily talk myself into drinking each day. I’m very happy with it and will buy more.

I am so grateful for this site for making this an easy decision for me. I will update in a few months about weight loss.

BTW, the can did not come with a scoop. I don’t know if i am measuring too much. I put one very large tablespoon of powder into 8 ounces of water. Could anyone help me determine how much to mix in the water in terms of tablespoons??

      5
      • I have a very sensitive stomach, and totally agree with Ames. It has regulated my digestive system.
It tastes awesome, and definitely fills you up. I use skim milk instead of h2o because I drink it at work. I’m a hairstylist and always on the move.
Definitely would recommend this shake to anyone, it’s just awesome!

        • I am in the middle of getting implants and dentures, so I have NO teeth and so not cook anyway, never learned. I was always fit and 5’7″ 140lbs – just right for me – not pencil or model thing, but not fat by any means, my boyfriend called it curvy and womanly, ha ha…anyway… after an auto accident, becoming sedentary, meds, I gained weight. I need nutrition for energy and health, and I need to lost weight, but will be without teeth for another 4 months! I decided that protein shaked had to be employed. Right Size was a failure for me, yuky taste, didn’t blend well, high cost, did NOT solve my appetite or cravings, no weight loss, so I am glad I stumbled onto this page. DId this one satisfy you until the next meal and help with in-between meal nibbling? Did you lose? By the way, Suzanne Somers shakes are GREAT! Like a soda shop milkshake and yes it satisfies hunger, AND as a bonus, it is great for digestion and evened out my regularity as well. They have a good amt ie 20g. of protein, but I guess I felt they were more of a snack than a meal, and I am seeking more hardcore nutrition, especially for 2 shakes per day meal replacement….and SS’s is to me, pricey…with shipping $29.00 per can with 10 shakes..and you have to buy heavy cream at 2 cartons a can for another $5.00. $3.50 per shake? Like I said, it makes for a super terrific tv time pre-bed snack without guilt….but I can’t see it as the foundation to a weight loss program. Still a gem I bet I keep using altho I heard they may stop making them ’cause their whey protein supplier is raising prices considerably.
Anyway…could you tell more about your experience? I really need a good shake. Thanks.

I had to get a spoon and dig for the scoop, it was at the bottom of the can. The shakes taste great. A friend of mine has been using it and gave me one of her cans of chocolate and a bottle of resverashape to try. I will be ordering from idealshape.

        0
      • Jennie (medical student) says:

@ Brittany – thanks for the tip about digging for the scoop. I used a spoon to dig for it as well and found it in the middle of the can.

@ Ames – if you’ve lost your scoop, according to the idealshape website’s FAQ section “The scoop serving size is approximately a little less than a 1/4 cup or 3 heaping table spoons.”

        hope this helps!

I have been using Ideashape for about 3 weeks now. I’ve lost a pound a week doing nothing, not even watching what I eat. I have H Pylori and am allergic to the meds to get rid of it. So my stomach is very sensitive! I mix 8 oz of almond milk ( I can’t have milk) and 4 oz of strawberry or vanilla kefir (99% lactose free and tons of probiotics) my stomach has never felt better. The strawberry kefir and chocolate shake is delicious.

  12. Dear Mrs. R.

    By nature, I’m a skeptic.
So, naturally, being a skeptic, my question is “Do you have any financial interests in the products you promote”?
i.e. Ddo you own ANY shares in the company of these products or are you a distributor for these products?

Thank you for taking my question.

    0
    • We’re not a distributor of any of the products featured on our site. We link ALL shakes to Amazon Affiliate or the companies specific affiliate programs. And a few free affiliate programs from shakes on the board. Which is fine with us.

So…there’s little reason to promote one over the other. Maybe the more expensive ones because we’d get a bigger cut, but the expensive shakes, default lower on the list because of the weight we put on the value category…We’re shooting ourselves in the foot!

      0
      • Mrs. R, I really appreciate you and your team taking the time to critique these shakes. I’ve never tried one before and was considering bying Shakeology after hearing about a co-worker doing it. I looked for reviews online but could easily see they were all linked to the company itself. Then I read your reviews on that product and this one and can see you obviously give fair reviews. You tell the pros and the cons. I think I’m convinced to give IdealShape a try (mostly because it’s much cheaper than Shakeology.) I agree with your comment about needing more flavors though! Thanks again for all your time and comments!

  13. I too am thrilled I found this site. I just placed a “starter” kit; and hoping for the best, as I am starting out a bit discouraged with the high cost of shipping – taking advantage of your $5.00 coupon was a bonus :)

    • Just following up (on my success) — I’ve been using Ideal Shape for two weeks. 4-5 out of 7 days I have replaced breakfast and lunch and/or dinner with the MRS. I’ve currently lost 3 pounds with really no increase in my normal activity. The hunger pains are fairly controlled; but I may need a fruit/vegetable snack just to get me until my next meal. I am so far happy with the results and will continue at least for several more weeks.

I had ordered Chocolate and honestly it tastes GREAT.

I had the same problem. Until I read their newsletter and found that they had a customer loyalty program that allowed me to get my order sent out with free shipping. I think you have to call in to their customer service department to get the discount.

I don’t know if anyone has called in to their customer service department, but they have been great every time I have had a question.

  15. To Whom It May Concern:

Could you please tell me the ingredients? I have many food allergies to wheat, eggs, fish, certain vitamins (i.e. HOTROX) and will get asthma attacks and itchy red burning hives and rashes if i eat what i am allergic to. Does your Ideal shape shake have any of these ingredients?

    Thank you.

    Sincerely,

  16. I am tired of paying the high price for shakeology. Hoping Idealshape is better. Thank you so much for your website. Keep up the good work.

  17. I was looking at Shakeology and was doing some research when I found this website. I am SO glad I did! After trying the chocolate Shakeology, it was grainy, didn’t taste very good, and I was hungry afterwards. I have 2 kids and do meal replacement shakes for my breakfast for a long time but this wasn’t cutting it for me at all. Then I found out how much it was and searched on ebay to see if I could find it cheaper. It’s still about $120 for a 30 day supply. I decided to try IdealShape Meal Replacement Shake. For the same price I got 2 vanilla and 1 chocolate, their ebook (which has a lot of great information) and a month supply of Revershape. I haven’t tried the Revershape yet but this is what I found of their shakes. The taste is fabulous! My husband and I both tried it and he said he did it with water, which the taste is fine, but he was eating less lunch and not very hungry at dinner time. This has been two days in a row. I tried both vanilla and chocolate and was really happy with the taste and not being hungry. Shipping was fast!! Customer Service was great! I called to ask a few questions regarding the shake. So far I have been very pleased with everything! Thank you so much for your review!

I have a CDL which means I can’t take anything that wiil show up as a drug that will impare my driving of a commerical truck in the performance of my assigned job duties. Is there any ingredents that would be cause for concern?

    0
    • Nope, not in this shake. I’m pretty sure none of the shakes we’ve reviewed would cause anything sketchy to appear on a drug test.

      0
      • Actually, Shakeology does have a caution on their package that it contains an ingredient (suma root) that could cause a false positive on a drug test.

        0
  19. Thank you for your reviews! They have been helpful in my search for a good meal replacement shake. Could you please include information on how many calories are in each serving for idealshape shakes? You have this information for other shakes, but not for your #1 shake!! Thank you :)

  20. I am lactose intolerant. Do these shakes have any milk products?

    0
    • Yes pat, these contain a whey protein isolate as most of these protein shakes do. You will want to try one that only has a soy-protein isolate.

  23. Hi, I just had a baby about 3 months ago and with diet and exercise I am about 15 lbs away from my ideal weight. I am trying to lose another 10 lbs in a month….Could you pls tell me what the monthly average weight loss has been for those using this product?

    0
    • Not really Ana.

Everyone responds differently to weight loss. Women especially tend to lose weight at a much slower rate (sucks to be us, I know). If you have not been exercising for a long time, you will tend to lose weight fast for the few weeks because it’s water weight. Also your hormones act much differently during and after a pregnancy so your results might be very different than average.

      • Do you know if you can use these shakes while breastfeeding? Are there any additives in them that would cause a red flag? Or are they just safe nutrition?

        0
        • Hey Melinda, looking at the ingredient list, we’re not seeing anything that might cause an issue, though talking to your doctor is definitely something we would recommend.

          0
          • I was wondering the same thing. I’m currently breast feeding and want to start these shakes. Has anyone asked a doc about these yet?

  24. Thanks so much for this site. Like many others, I was thinking about Shakeology but didn’t want to shell out $120 or more for them. I just ordered a tub of IdealShape and I am also happy to say that they ship to Afghanistan. Very excited to try it- the food here is mediocre at best and all of the vitamins and minerals have been boiled out. Thanks for supporting the troops IdealShape :)

    0
    • I was pretty excited as well to find the Ideal Shape, but did you notice its $60 a month and if you read the directions, they want you to drink 2 shakes a day. This would mean the cost is still $120 a month. Which doesnt even make sense….I’m going back to Shakeology if I am gonna be paying this kind of money.

      0
      • As far as I’ve seen, IdealShape recommends one per day. The thing about replacing one or two meals with this shake is that yes, you are doubling the price, but if the shake is a good value you are saving more money by replacing two meals.

How much do you spend on a single meal? More than $1.50? More than $4.00? If you do than pretty much all the shakes are saving you money each time you use them.

That’s why we break it down to cost per shake as each shake replaces a meal. Shakeology is still $4 a shake to IdealShape is $1.50

        0
      • Michelle says:

Christina, if you drink 2 shakes a day, that’s only $2.66 per day. Or $80 per month, not $120

        0
      • I am actually a Beachbody coach and I love to tell my friends about Shakeology, but I too consider the shakes to be a little pricey. Shakeology has a “3 day cleanse” that you can do that actually asks you to do 3 shakes a day, which shortens the “lifespan” of your bag. So that would mean you’re spending more $$ per day, but at least I was saving on meals. Either way, its a MEAL replacement. You normally eat 3 meals a day, so you could choose to supplement all 3 if you wanted. It doesn’t say that you have to do 2 a day, you just probably get better results that way.

        • Except there are many things that these shakes (all the shakes that we’ve reviewed) don’t have. For example, using only supplements you are not getting complete proteins. Whey protein does not contain the 8 amino acids that your body cannot produce. You can only find those in meat or quinoa.

2 Shakes max with a balanced meal is always going to be our suggestion.

            This I did not know:

‘Whey protein does not contain the 8 amino acids that your body cannot produce. You can only find those in meat or quinoa.’

I was actually considering going the 3/day route at one point, but that won’t be happening now. Thanks, MRS R.

            0
          • Mrs R you state “Except there are many things that these shakes (all the shakes that we’ve reviewed) don’t have. For example, using only supplements you are not getting complete proteins. Whey protein does not contain the 8 amino acids that your body cannot produce. You can only find those in meat or quinoa.”

You said ALL the shakes don’t have the amino acids.Sorry but you are wrong. The Isalean shake from Isagenix you reviewed DOES have the amino acids. Has them listed on the side of the container.

            0
          • The protein itself has those amino acids? Or they added it in after-the-fact? Supplemental proteins do not usually contain those amino acids. There are companies that do amino acid blends on top of the protein.

I am so glad I looked at this site. Unfortunately I had already ordered a 30 day supply of Visalus, but plan on trying IdealShape after that supply is gone. Thank you for the conversations which allow all of the future shake drinkers to make an informed decision.

    • I am torn between ordering this product and visalus. Since you have ordered both, I was hoping you could tell me which one you liked better. I would really like to lose about 10-15 pounds and need a meal replacement with a great appetite suppresant. Any ideas before I buy?

      0
    • did you have a chance to try Visalus and Idealshape yet? What are your conclusions after trying both?

      0
      • I’ve tried both and prefer Idealshape. Vi doesn’t dissolve as good as Idealshape or taste quite as good.

  26. I found your site while researching online for a shake. There was a link to recipes such as carrot cake, but it’s been disabled. Is there anyone that still has any of the recipes that could share?

  27. Hi- thanks so much for your reviews! I came here to read up on Shakeology but ended up getting Idealshape instead due to the cost. It tastes fabulous! I ordered the Milk Chocolate on Friday and received it Monday! I decided to order the vanilla as well so I could make smoothies with it. Can you please give us the link to the website mentioned above ran by Carla Meine? I would like to try some of those recipes!

  28. I LOVE Ideal Shape meal replacement shakes! I lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks using the plan. I used ProGrade for awhile. I have to say Ideal Shape is much better at killing cravings and keeping me feeling full. Even though it only comes in two flavors, you can add fruit to the vanilla, or even the chocolate to create different flavors. Try Peanut or almond butter in the chocolate and blue berries, strawberries or orange juice in the vanilla!

  29. Thanks for your very helpful reviews. I would like to try Idealshape but one thing I just can’t find is the amount of Slendesta that they put into each serving. I have been looking into the safety and efficacy information on this drug and it seems fine but it would be good to know how much I will be taking every day if I replace 1 or 2 meals a day. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    J

    0
    • Hi James,

I’m not exactly sure the exact amount, but when we did the research on what Slendesta was, we couldn’t find any reports of negative side-effects. From what we saw, Slendesta is just mainly a potato-extract (doesn’t seem special, but the drink does a great job with hunger so who are we to complain.)

  30. Just purchased some Idealshape on Fri . Also posted a question here about the glycemic index of the product . Not only was my question not answered but it was erased . Why?

    0
    • Hey Jason,

Sorry about that, your original comment must’ve got hit by the spam filter. (Sometimes shorter messages do.) I don’t have IdealShape’s glycemic index on hand, I fired off an email to the company, and I’ll look around and see if we can get that info for you.

        • Shipping is really fast ! But taste is rated way to high on this site . Reminds me of suger water ! Oh wait i have never had suger water before . This stuff hunger blocker is top of th line though .

          3
      • We’ve posted this in other comments, but I suppose we should include it here too.

The Glycemic response we got was “Idealshape MRS milk chocolate and vanilla have a low glycemic index. The estimated DE value is between 10 and 20″

  31. I live in Canada and I really want to try this product, however it will not ship to my location. Do you know of any sites that will ship to Canada?

    0
    • I bought mine on eBay for less than the idealshape website (same price per container but cheaper shipping). If you search for idealshape (no space) on ebay, i’m sure you’ll find a seller that ships to canada. Good luck!

  32. Hunger blocking is priority on my list for shakes. I was wondering when you did your testing if you mixed the shake with water or skim milk? I prefer mixing my shakes with water due to the added calories in the milk, but mixing it with milk does add protein. I am curious if your score for the shake regarding hunger was based on mixing with water or milk? Also, did you follow the shake with a glass of water as directed? I’m curious about the rationale for that as well. Thanks for your review.

    0
    • I use skim milk. There’s not many calories in a 8 ounce serving of milk. Also I haven’t drank a glass of water after. I drink my normal water throughout the day.

    • Jennie (medical student) says:

@Darlene – Initially, I tried the chocolate IdealShape shake with water (at room temp) and it just tasted awful in my opinion. I almost vomited. I have to say the familiar “hot cocoa powder” smell was deceptive, lol. I noticed many people said they added crushed ice to it and I found that’s actually a great trick to numb my taste buds and get the shake down. Adding extra calories like milk, etc immensely improves the flavor as well but if you want to keep down calories I would suggest trying the ice method first. You’ll get used to it.

The recommendation to drink water after the shake is there because the shake as a relatively high protein content. I learned in medical school that high protein diets can cause constipation if you’re not adequately hydrated. Drinking a glass of water will also help with the filling effect.

Note: I haven’t tried any of the other brands, but I hear some meal replacement shakes can taste pretty awful so maybe the reviewers on this site thought that this one is great tasting RELATIVE to those other shakes.

      • Jennie (medical student) says:

An update to my last post. I’m a 114 lb 5’2 female and my main goal of using this shake was to help stop my cravings for fatty junk food while I study (usually I’m 108 lb, but I’ve been exercising less and eating more junk since school is busy). After trying the chocolate shake 2x/day (bfast and dinner) for 1 whole week I realized that this will not work for me because since I keep the mixes relatively healthy, it is not at all filling. In fact after 30 min of finishing a shake + eating a piece of fruit I still devoured delicious waffle fries/chips/cookies, etc. on several of the occasions. When I didn’t devour any junk after, my stomach started growling in 3 hrs… which made drinking this for dinner an issue, but not so much for breakfast because lunch was soon to come! I thought it’d be important to share this because I seriously wonder how people who are overweight can “feel full” if they’re using this shake in a truly healthy way.

I’ve tried the shake with just water, crushed ice, skim milk, fat free vanilla yogurt, fat free strawberry yogurt, reduced sugar OJ (has 9 g sugar which is actually still quite unhealthy, I’ll explain below), and iced coffee w/ skim milk. Of these mixes, only two blocked the nasty (IMO) IdealShape flavor and aftertaste– the iced coffee mix with skim milk and the OJ. I don’t drink coffee often (even decaf affects me). And I very infrequently drink OJ because it’s unhealthy. I only did it for the taste test here. It tastes like a weird orange creamsicle because I only had chocolate powder to mix, but I suspect the vanilla mix would taste more legit.

If anyone here is trying to lose weight, you shouldn’t mix this with “frozen fruit” and/or orange juice because these contain ADDED sucrose. This means there’s MORE sugar in these fruit sources than natural fruit naturally contains. EXCESS sugar of any kind (sucrose, high fructose corn syrup, lactose, etc regardless of being natural or refined) in your body is converted to fat. In addition to that, sucrose is bad for you because it is made up of 50% glucose and 50% fructose, and 100% of the fructose component is directly converted to fat because your body cannot use fructose as an energy source like it can with glucose. Also, each individual fat cell lives for 10 years. Eating healthy and exercising to “burn fat” only shrivels each fat cell down to a healthier size, so it’s important to find a regimen that you will be able to stick with for a long time to see long lasting and healthy results. Google search UCSF TV “The Skinny on Obesity” for more information.

Although I think it’s great that IdealShape is helping people lose weight with the whole program that their offer, the testimonials are unnecessarily sketchy. And they do this on purpose because the people in these testimonials learned how to advertise themselves to win a contest. One lady is standing in full profile in her “before” picture, but is standing in a slanted view in her “after” picture to look skinnier. One gentleman is wearing a long sleeved suit in his “before” picture and specifically states that he wanted to reduced belly fat. In his “after” picture he’s wearing a loose fitting tank top to show off his biceps (which he could have already had before) and he’s standing profile so you can’t see his big belly as easily as in his “before picture where he’s standing sideways.

I’m returning the IdealShape mix and the free BlenderBottle for the 30 day moneyback guarantee and I will let you know if I am successfully refund my purchase price (minus the shipping/return shipping of course).

Bottom line: eat healthy, workout, destress, and be suspicious of potential advertising schemes. Good luck!

        0
        • I firmly disagree with you. Your “science” is very skewed and some of it is just plain wrong. Yes, excess calories (in any form, it could be protein, fat, etc, not just sugar) will make you gain weight. However, any reduction in your “normal” caloric intake will either stop the addition of weight or lose weight, depending on the amount of reduction.
In regards to your eating concerns, I suggest that they may involve much more than hunger. Some research has suggested that we eat more when reading or studying due to increased nueron activity in the brain. Our muscles aren’t the only cells that need energy. Other research also suggests that one should never eat while focusing on something other than eating as it leads to overeating. Our brain doesn’t quite process that we’ve eaten if we do not consciously focus on it.

Bottom line: A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

  33. Friends of mine are all doing the Visalus shakes and I was given a sample yesterday. I decided to research first and found this site. The reviews and comments helped me change my mind and I ordered the Ideal Shape Shakes instead. Other than the big ouch on shipping, Im looking forward to their arrival and will let you know my thoughts. I am really hoping they give me the jump start I need!

  34. Hello, I would really like to know what you mix with these shakes, is it milk, juice or water, I really need to keep my carbs down so I am hoping it is good just to mix with water.

    0
    • Hi Stacy,

When we tested it, we did it with both milk and water and they were both tasty. The water works fine, there is just a creamier texture to milk.

      0
      • Stacy, Maybe try Almond Milk it is only an extra 35 calories…I havent tried it with this yet- Im researching what to buy but I read somewhere it mixes well with shakes and has lower cals/fat than regular milk. Creamier taste too!

        • I mix mine with the 8 oz of water and 4 ice cubes and it tastes great. I’ve replaced two meals a day for 30 days now and I’m still not tired of the flavor.

          0
          • Rebecca what is your progress now if you still are on the program, or how much did you loose in the 30 days ?

            0
      • Hi Ms. R i was wondering if you can mix it with powder milk and water? Has that been done before? Im just trying to cut as much cost and calories i can per shake.

  35. I am needing to lose about 20 lbs. I am bigger than I have ever been in my life right now and just can not seem to lose any weight. (just turned 40) I tried some shake from GNC and mixed it with water first….. it was like chocolate water. Just as thin as plain water and it just grossed me out. Next tried with milk….. got way too thick. Do the ideal shape shakes get really thick with milk? I can’t do chocolate water. I’m all about textures.

    0
    • In order to do get the right consistency, you’ve got to get the right milk. Everyone has a different idea of what is too thick, fortunately there is a wide array of milks. I like it with Skim Milk, and that has the lowest calorie addition to the shake. If that’s still too watery, you can go up to 1%, 2% and whole milk till you find the consistency that works for you.

      0
      • You might try 4 oz of light vanilla soy milk or 4 oz of trop 50 orange or red orange juice with the vanilla shakes. I also put just a few frozen berries in. It adds some calories but not more than 50 and gives a nice flavor and some needed variety. I’m going to try some PB2 as well.

        0
        • I forgot to add that the juice or vanilla soy milk would be mixed with 6 to 8 oz of water. That gives you a little more volume and seems to be a nice consistency, especially if mixed with soy milk since it is a little thicker than skim milk.

  36. Mrs. R,

Have you tried the Herbalife shakes? I’m trying to decide which would be better, IdealShape or Herbalife.

    Thanks!

    • Yes we have, and it will be the next one we post once we get back on track with our updates (we’re a month behind now!) But there has been some hold up on the back end that we won’t go into.

Not to give too much away, but we won’t have to be updating our top 3 graphics after we post HerbalLife, if that helps…

I just ordered the idealshakes, and I didn’t know there was a recipe book of sorts to add variety to the vanilla flavored mix. Where can I access that info? Also, I am really wanting to share my results but am afraid I may forget to log back in…any chance someone can shoot me an email so I can share with your readers? I am soooo excited about this. I am 40 years old and have a two year old (and two other kids). I weigh 165 lbs and have already lost 40 lbs of the baby weight. I know…I know…don’t say it. Anyhow, I am hoping to lose another 40 lbs and am thrilled that this may be the last piece to my puzzle. I just recently started exercising 4 times a week for at least 30 minutes (one hour twice a wk and 30 minutes the other two times). So, feel free to email me and check on my status.

        Thanks!

  37. First, and foremost, excellent article and reviews. I tried Skakeology, and simply said, it’s terrible. I enjoyed the GNC Lean Shake, and Lean Shake 25 (good taste, good protein, decent nutrients) – but at nearly 200 calories, there are better choices. IMHO, hands down, IdealShapes’ Chocolate is the best; higher protein, significantly higher nutrients, and the only drink that I don’t have to pinch my nose, or snarl my face to drink and get down. It actually tastes good, and at just over 100 calories, this is a great addition to my daily lifting and/or cardio routines.

    • My guess would be that it’s hard to get ingested health products approved for over-seas shipment. None of us are outside the states so I couldn’t say for sure.

      0
      • Are there any others that you are aware off that come anywhere close to Idealshape in comparison

        0
        • We’ve had a few products start out strong, but most are lacking in one category or another. It just depends what you are looking for.

Price: there are a few that are better price wise, herbalife, kirkland and the like.
For hunger-blocking: not many have even come close to how well IdealShape does on hunger control. Right Size might be the closest…
Nutrition: Shakeology beats IdealShape in nutrition.
Flavor: I don’t know. Some shakes do better on variety, but on chocolate and vanilla flavors, IdealShape are better than pretty much all the other guys out there. In our opinion.

You can also click on “Reviews” on the top of the page and follow down our overall ratings to see who compares.

  39. I posted a message yesterday that got erased…I tried to order ideal shape in vanilla, but the web only gives you the option of chocolate, have they changed now and instead of adding flavors they took vanilla away? Thanks!

    • Hmmm, I would probably call them up. My shipment came about a week ago and it had vanilla in it. (Why yes, some of us do use the products we review on a regular basis! And not just IdealShape.)

Could just be on back order.

I ordered idealshape on Friday and got it today Monday, I am super excited, I plan on starting it tomorrow and will keep you posted on the out come of this first round. The only complaint I have is the shipping, oh wow it’s crazy but if it works like I think it will, then it will be well worth it.
Thanks again Ladies for this website, it is really helpful.

  41. Glad I stumbled onto this sight, had tried the shakology chocolate and actually really liked it, even if the berry was vomit inducing. Was looking for more information and was going to buy it when I saw shakeology scam, and wondered if the fantastic nurtition was really too good to be true. Read the review, and looked at you number one favorite your site is so trust inspiring I have just ordered a month’s worth of chocolate and a bottle for $54.29 with lowest shipping, and mrsr discount (thanks). So excited to try it and thanks for the advice! :)

  45. I am a user of the number three rated meal replacement, and my main reason for using it is for the energy boost it provides. Alas, I am poor, and taking this stuff is breaking me financially…I don’t see any mention of energy boost on your number one and number two reviews…Do you remember if either gave an energy boost?

I have a sedentary job, along with health issues that are energy draining, so I really need what ever nutrients are providing that…

    Thanks for your honest reviews.

Something that you may want to include when green tea comes up is a warning for women of childbearing age that green tea (from the supplement) can interfere with folic acid absorption leading to an increase chance of neural tube defects (spina bifida). This is one site that discusses it (at the _very_ bottom) but googling it will find other sites. http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=146

    • Thanks Katie, that’s great info!

The problem is with all the shakes and their many ingredients (much less, their side supplements) is that lots of people with certain conditions can react to almost every ingredient. It would be nearly impossible for us to list them all as part of the review. That’s why we love the great commenters on our site!

  48. I tried the Idealshape milk chocolate flavor yesterday after reading this review. The price of $50 for 30 servings was very attractive however, the $9 shipping charge for one tub is more than a little high (especially since it took a whole week to get here). The directions called for just skim milk or water but I added 4 or 5 ice cubes to help the texture thicken up a little bit. The taste is actually very pleasant, kind of like chocolate malt and not overly sweet. I have a very sensitive stomach and while there was a little extra “noise” while I was digesting I did not experience any gas or cramping (which happens with some other shakes). I had the shake at 12:15pm for lunch and did not feel hungry until 4pm when I usually have a small snack anyways. Overall a very good product and I would recommend, especially for sensitive stomachs.

  49. I have read your review and all comments great stuff. Thanks to everyone who commented I have just ordered from ideal shape I can’t wait to get my order. Between now and when it comes I am going to read the newsletter to get my mind right on sticking with this. So far I am very pleased.

I did not find the shipping to much I have my own business so I am use to having to pay shipping. I used a coupon so that also helped.

P.S. I will be back to post as I continue forward, I will update my rating after I have a chance to try the product.

I was looking for info on both TH121 & Rghtsize smoothies and found your sight. Idealshake sounds intriguing. I have a 3 hour round trip commute everyday, so i get home pretty late & my husband does his own cooking. I do not like what he cooks (greasy meat) & do not like to cook myself. I prefer to eat things I can grab easily, but not junk food, so I gravitate toward meal replacement shakes. However, I did not have much luck w/Slimfmast or Atkins. I am also sick of counting points & going to meetings. I wake up everyday trying to decide which diet to be on, & it seems to change from meal to meal. I get no where. This review of Idealshakes sounds almost too good to be true, but I am going to try it anyway.

    • That’s one of my favorite things about meal replacement shakes. When I’m not feeling like taking the time to cook and I don’t want to spend money on fast food then I just have my shaker bottle with a scoop in it. Throw in some water or milk and I’m good to go.

Let us know how it goes Mickey. We’d love to know if our ratings lived up to your expectations!

      0
  51. After getting my shipment, I am pretty happy. The taste is much better than expected. I am using skim milk to up the protein and I’m don’t think it’s watery.
If you want it really thick, I found that using a blender with a milk shake blade does a great job! (almost too thick!) Skim milk + powder + blender w milkshake blade = thick!

Do you know if there is anything in the shake that is supposed to be increasing energy or metabolism? As best I can figure out from the ingredients there shouldn’t be. Seems to be basically protein, fiber and vitamins.

    • Hey Katie,

I don’t believe they put in anything specifically for energy beyond the natural energy contained in proteins, vitamins, and minerals. There is no caffeine in the shakes.

  52. Hate to tell you, but they’ve changed the package and the Brain Food CD is no longer included. A download of their book is packaged in it now. Also once you’ve ordered the first time you can join the frequent customer club and you get basically free shipping.

    5
    • That’s good to know about the free shipping after the first one. I bought the 2-month supply and paid $13! Seems a little inflated!

  53. i order 3 months supply and its a lot cheaper.Thats what i have for breakfast every morning love the taste.

  54. Finally got my Milk Chocolate IdealShape today (shipping took 1 1/2 weeks, not a plus) – looking forward to trying it tomorrow for breakfast. Tried Shakeology and loved the nutrition in it but didn’t find it gave me anymore energy than normal. It tasted fine, a little grainy, but it didn’t keep me full until lunchtime. It also gave me some GI problems (which I was told by a Beachbody trainer was caused by the wheat grass in it) Hoping for the best, I’ll post tomorrow what I think! REALLY hoping for good taste and feeling full!

  55. I wish the shipping wasn’t so expensive….to ship one canister was going to cost me $18.51….that really lessens the value for me. I could not locate where the company is located, but I am in New England so was really shocked to see that price for shipping.

  56. Hello, my doctor told me that I am under weight and I need to drink shakes to complement my diet. would this product help me to gain weight too?

    0
    • Hey Lucia, Meal Replacement Shakes are more for losing weight as they tend to suppress your appetite. Though drinking a meal replacement WITH a meal might help you pack on a few extra pounds.

In the end though, you’d probably want to look into more of the protein shakes rather than meal replacement.

  57. Denise Schoch says:

Since I really don’t like the strange, artificial taste of stevia (I know, I know, it’s “natural” – still “tastes bad” as my young son would say), and your #1 rated shake has only 2 g of sugar, I was wondering if you know how they sweetened the top 3 rated meal replacement shakes.

    0
    • Hi Denise,

Stevia is the all-natural 0-calorie sweetener. healthier, yes, but it does tend to taste…well…not good.

IdealShape uses Sucralose which is another 0-calorie sweetener, but it’s an artificial one, so it does taste a lot better than Stevia. It just doesn’t get the “all-natural” tag.

      0
      • You can taste the sucralose in this and it is VERY sweet to me. For some reason fruit covers the taste and dulls the overly sweet taste.

        0
  58. Well, I have used IdealShape for 3 days now…
As a pre-curser I’d like to mention that I exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet. Weight loss has stalled at this point. So I am trying this for my breakfast meal.
Day 1- I mixed with Almond Milk and some ice cubes, pretty thin texture and I could really taste the Sucralose in it. (I am not a fan of Diet sodas etc..)Wasn’t feeling too positive about it. It did cut back on my appetite throughout the day, not just after I drank it but all day.
Day 2 – Lost 1 lb. from day 1, ok not a bad deal.
Mixed it with Almond milk, 1/2 banana and some strawberries this time. MUCH better taste, but still a little thin.
Appetite suppressant still kicking in, I seem to eat less at lunch and dinner.
Day 3 – Lost another pound – good deal
Mixed with Almond milk and a FROZEN banana & FROZEN strawberries. Very thick texture, cant taste the sucralose.
Hoping to be down another pound in the morning, guess I will see.
    Trying frozen mixed berries tomorrow.
I guess I wish it had the nutritional benefits of Shakeology, but I’ll stick it out for the month to see what happens. My goal weight is only 7 lbs away so this may do the trick…

    0
    • OK RachaelE, how’s it going? I just started this at lunch today. My goal is to lose 20 pounds. My husband is doing it with me, though he loses weight so much faster than I. Are you still losing weight?

  59. How does Idealshape compare to Isogenics which says “you will not have to have the skin tightened where you loose the weight”? I have read this claim and would like to know if Idealshape can make the same claim?
    Thank you

    0
    • I don’t believe they do. I think Isagenix is the only one to make the claim, though I’m curious as to why they could….was that told to you by a company rep or is it on their site somewhere?

      0
  60. Hey, I was wondering if it was good for people with who are trying to lower their blood pressure?

    0
    • Hey Amesha,

A big part of lowering your blood pressure is proper diet and exercise. Using any of the meal replacement shakes on the site is probably a good step towards doing so. As always, I would recommend consulting your doctor though for IdealShape specifically here’s the info.

The main nutrients that help lower blood pressure are: Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Vitamin E, and Zinc.

So IdealShape does pretty well with this.

      Calcium: 70% per serving
      Magnesium: 100% per serving
      Potassium: 6% per serving
      Zinc: 60% per serving
      Vitamin E: 70% per serving

      0
      • I would think this would be helpful in lowering BP, as the shakes as a meal replacement would most likely be reducing your sodium intake.

  61. I’ve had the IdealShape system for 30 days now and I’ve lost 13 pounds! I didn’t really increase my activity level and I have to admit I struggled a little over Thanksgiving, so I think the next 30 days will be even better. I’m 32 years old, a mother of four, a wife, and a full time college student. I was researching the Vi Shakes when I came upon this site and chose the Ideal Shape shakes instead. I’ve taken nutrition and anatomy in college (my major is nursing) and I was intrigued by the science behind these shakes. When I first started them I would replace breakfast and lunch and then eat dinner. However, by the time I got to dinner, I would overeat. I really found that I missed chewing. Now, I eat lunch and replace breakfast and dinner. I found that it really helps me choose better foods. I’ll keep updating my progress as I go.

  62. Hello. I was looking at a meal replacement shake because I have ADD and my adderall has made food undesirable to me. I have no appetite during the day, and I sometimes have to force myself to eat because Im afraid of not giving my body all the nutrition it needs. I love food, and its very unfortunate that I just dont want it. Adderall also makes me very thirsty, thats why I figured a shake would be good because its pretty much liquid nutrients.Im interested in Idealshape because of the nutrition, taste, and price, but Im not sure if I should use it because of the hunger suppressant. I would like to lose some weight, but my main priority is healthy nutrition. Id love to get feedback and advice!
    Thanks!

    0
    • Hi Rose,

Hunger blockers are meant to produce a feeling of fulness. If you are forcing yourself to drink a shake even though you are already full, the hunger blockers won’t have much of an effect. I would consult your doctor especially since you are on prescription medication, but the hunger blocker isn’t going to cause you any discomfort.

  63. A shake containing CORN SYRUP SOLIDS and SUCRALOSE among the ingredients of a shake that is supposed to be healthy– forget it! Better do a little more research on this shake or any other shake that contains unhealthy ingredients!

    0
    • Hi Carolyn,

Sucralose is actually one of the safest, most effective, highest ranked 0-calorie sweetener on the market. In fact, it’s the only 0-calorie sweetener given the thumbs up by the Center for Science in the Public Interest.

As for Corn Syrup, it’s about as unhealthy as sugar, and you should cut back on it (Once again referring to the CSPI site’s ranking of it) but not something that you need to avoid outright.

Entire viral campaigns are started about the toxicity of certain foods, but not all of them are true. We get a lot of people claiming aspartame (a different 0-calorie sweetener) is like arsenic when those are mostly hoaxes.

  64. Just came across your website by random & already I love you guys!

I just started using my first month of Isagenix (which is working for me since I lost 11 pounds in the first 9 days doing the cleanse for life system) but I wanted to find something cheaper to use for the long run. When I’m done with my current stock of Isagenix, I’ll be trying out this system.

    Thank you MRSR for existing!!

  65. Hi! I really want to get started on a meal replacement shake and i didn’t know which one to get until i found this website. It gave me the information i needed to make my decision.
Amazing Meal was recommended by a manager at a organic vitamin shop, but i am definitely getting IdealShape after reading this.
I just have a question about meal replacement shakes. Am i supposed to eat other foods along with the shake??? 100 calories seems pretty low.

    Thanks!

    5
    • That’s up to you Diana. These shakes fill us up, so that’s all that matters. We don’t usually eat anything with it unless we’ve added fruits, or yogurt, or something into the smoothie.

Calories are a measurement of heat rather than a physical entity. They can come from all sorts of things like carbs and proteins and fats. Getting a small amount of the right kind of calories can be just effective as a lot of the not-so-great ones.

I would like to know if I can get a free sample of IdealShape shake in chocolate and vanilla. It would be nice to try it before ordering a 30 day supply.

  67. just placed an order for my first try of idealshape meal replacement. i am hoping it does work for me in losing some weight since i want to lose around 20 pounds. i was browsing cites and this one stuck out at me with all the reviews that it had and how much positive feedback it had, this is the first form of a diet i am trying ever, sooo i am kind of excited to see what happens and hoping it will taste as good as the ratings say it does. ill try to leave feedback on my comment when i do get my shipment in to update and let others know how the product works. worst part of this product is the shipping, its wayy too much! but thanks for the ratings everyone!

    5
    • I also just ordered the 3 month supply and can’t wait to try it. I was almost set to order the Shakeology when I happened upon this site somehow. It was meant to be because I found something that is more economical for me and sounds like just what I’m looking fir. Can’t wait to get it, they promised in 4 or 5 days. I’ll let you know how I like it and if it works, you do the same.

      0
      • Just received an e-mail from them saying they had shipped it! WOW! That’s fast, only about 2 hours since I ordered it. Won’t be long till I get try it with the rest of you. I’m so wanting this to help with my cravings. Seems like when I eat, I want to keep on eating! Then, get mad at myself!

  68. I agree with Charlotte, with the new year coming and everyone wanting to lose those holiday pounds it would be nice if the company offered an incentive for a free 30 day supply or coupon offer. Please pass along this feedback. thank you.

    0
    • I don’t think any company could afford to give away free 30-day tubs. However, most of them have a 30 day trial where you can get a refund of the product price if you are dissatisfied. IdealShape is one that does.

  69. I am a bodybuilder on a “cut cycle” and I wanted to try it with MRS. I am 6′ 220lbs and my competition weight will be 170lbs. Can I use these shakes the same way as everyone else or will I need to add more food in between shakes?

    0
    • Hey David,

It depends on how you want to lose the weight. As a general rule, every 3500 calories you burn over your intake is a pound of lost weight. So finding your Base Metabolic Rate is important. If you’re hitting the gym a lot then you want to increase your protein intake to help with muscle repair/growth. But you still need to keep your calories lower, however bigger muscles burn more calories so men usually have a higher BMR and therefore are allowed more calories in the day.

      0
  70. I’ve made my usual resolution to lose weight. I just ordered the 30 day kit and downloaded the e-book. Since it will take 4-5 days to get the kit, I’ll get a head start reading the book. Here we go…again. If others have success stories, I’d love to hear them.

This site is great. Like a lot if people commenting on here, I too was doing research on Visalus shakes when a accidentally found myself here. I’m glad I did that very informative in a way everyone can understand. Decided to give this a try. Single mom of one who works swing shift, so I find myself eating badly. Put on a ton of weight, so I want something that’s nutritious, and keeps me on track. One thing I was wondering, is it ok to use with Almond milk? I am slightly lactose intolerant ( I can have chesses, yogurt and all that, but no straight milk ), but I don’t want to just use milk. Do I use the same amount?

    Thank you!!

    Nichelle

  73. I stumbled across this website while looking for info on Body by Vi…SO glad I did! I found your review very informative and decided to try IdealShape shakes instead. I placed an order- thanks for the coupon- and can’t wait for it to arrive. Yes, the shipping was pricey ($15 for 2 tubs), but if I like it, I will get autoship next time. I hope this helps in my effort to lose about 15 pounds…will keep you updated. FYI, I have tried GNC Lean shakes ($30/tub) and agree with your review that it is grainy and had no suppression. Thanks again for the helpful reviews (and posts)!

    • I ordered both chocolate and vanilla and have enjoyed them both. They really do fill me up for 4-5 hours! I thought I would still be hungry after I drank them, but I’m not. I know it’s water, but I’ve lost 3-4 pounds in a week of drinking them. I have replaced breakfast and lunch, but eat a healthy dinner. For breakfast, I have begun blending vanilla with almond milk and a banana which keeps me full until lunch. I have also been logging my caloric intake into the Daily Burn app and that has been very helpful…what goes in must be logged! Love it!

  75. Is Ideal Shape safe for women trying to get pregnant?

Is it safe once you do get pregnant? Obviously not to lose weight, but as a supplement for protein and other nutrients?

    0
  76. Wow, this seems like a great product but I had a couple of questions before I order it. I work like most and I don’t get home until late, because of this I rarely feel like cooking let alone eating. Is this product safe to use for breakfast, lunch and dinner four to five days per week? With approximately 100 calories per serving and about 100lbs I need to lose to get back into a healthy weight range I don’t want to make myself sick.

    0
    • No, Rita. We wouldn’t recommend any product for replacing ALL your meals. Especially 4-5 days a week.

It’s just not healthy. We’ve had people email us about how they don’t care and they do it, but we would never recommend it.

  77. Mrs. R, Reading reviews, curious did you or your staff also use the Reservera supplement with these shakes?
    Thanks

    0
    • A few of us have tried the ResveraShape. I know one of us swears by it, but she doesn’t get out much. It’s got some good antioxidants and there is some additional hunger blocking in it, but mainly I’ve found the shakes to be enough.

  78. My friend posted on FB that he and some friends we trying the Visalus 90 day challenge. I am always curious about losing weight as I am certainly not the most fit person. I was really kind of put off about the whole MLM/recruit your friends and get it free deal, that is just not for me. In addition (after reading your review) with the weight loss supplement it was almost twice as much as others. So I am taking a semi-risk (since there is a money back guarantee) and i am trying the IdealShape for a month. I’ll try and report back how it goes, supposedly my order has already shipped.

  79. Started my shakes today. Wasn’t hungry at all. Because I tend to overeat after getting home from work, I am drinking the shakes for breakfast and dinner. Eating lunch at work. I would love to lose 75 lbs so we’ll see how it goes.

  80. I’m glad I found this site!! I came across this site by accident looking for the nutritional vaule of the current meal replacement shake I have used for someone. But noticed it is ranked #3 so I checked the #1 shake reviews :)
I have this bookmarked and going to buy on payday. Thanks so much!
And you can’t beat that price compared to the one I have used before! The other is really expensive. Going to try this shake. :)

  81. I have a question about shipping. Do they ship overseas? I am in Afghanistan, but don’t want to charge my debit card, if you won’t ship it here.

Soooo glad I found this website! I was researching the Vi Shakes and found this. After you review, I chose the IdealShape shake. Incidentally, my sister gave me a taste of the chocolate Vi shake made with 2% chocolate milk and it was VERY good. HOWEVER, I make my IdealShape chocolate shake with 4oz of water, 4oz of 1% milk and some shredded ice, and it is awesome! Comes in at an amazing 160 calories and leaves me full for hours. The sensation of being satiated is very important to me as I’m starting out at a whopping 78 pounds overweight, so I obviously need help staying away from over-eating.

So far, so GREAT: 5 lbs down in one week without exercising whatsoever! I’m going for the same or better this week as I added a short 20-minute elliptical routine to start my dedication to exercising as well as healthier eating. I’m very curious about others’ success, as well as input about the motivational CDs/eBook offered…

Thanks so much for your fantastic, objective review that helped me finally get started, Mrs. R!

  83. Can you just replace one meal a day with this and have it be effective?

    0
    • Yes, Christy. That’s actually what it’s made for (30 serving tub is 30 day supply). There is what they label as the “accelerated program” where you replace 2 meals, but the shake is designed for one meal per day.

My wife and I were foing to order Medifast products before I pulled up your site while comparing other products. So I purchased 2 3-tub packages of IdealShape on the basis of your review. We take shakes for breakfast and lunch and have a healthy dinner. When we eat out, we look for the “healthy” items where the calorie count is often published. When we eat at home we use a food scale and calorie book. The chocolate shake taste with just water and ice is awesome. I sometimes mix PB2 with it for variety. There are a variety of no-cal flavorings that we use with the vanilla along with fruit, such as strawberry flavoring with a few frozen strawberries. This is delicious, adds few additional calories and sustains interest. It has been one week in. I have lost 10 lbs and my wife has lost 5lbs. Thanks for putting us onto Idealshape!

  85. I was researching the Visalus shake when I cam across this site, and I am so glad that I did! After hearing about the IdealShape shakes I placed my order. My order actually got a little mixed up, and when I called to check on it they were so helpful! They did everything in their power to make sure I got my shake as soon as possible and that I was a happy customer. I have never met such an amazing customer service staff….ever.

The shakes are actually really good! I have gotten some recipes (the butterfinger shake is my fave) from the internet, but the shake is so good by itself as well. It keeps me full, and because they taste so great I am excited for my next shake!

I would totally recommend this product! It’s the best meal replacement shake that I have ever tried.

  86. I came to this site originally for Shakology but got here and am pretty close to buying this product instead. But I’m curious, has anyone lost any inches because of this? I understand the weight loss but sometimes weight comes off and inches don’t.

    • Lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks, replacing breakfast with a shake. My clothes are definitely a lot looser. And I haven’t added any exercise yet.

  87. I tried to click on the nutrition and ingredients link that was posted but it said page not found, is anyone else having that problem? I am just wondering if it has seafood or any kind of nut in either type of shake. If not I will be ordering some very soon

I just purchased Ideal Shape, after contemplating Body by V. I did some research and came across this website. Just started today and I mixed my breakfast shake with skim milk and it was really good. For lunch I just mixed my shake with water and I must say it was much thinner but it was absolutely delicious and I wasn’t really even hungry from the breakfast shake, I happened to look at the clock and it was lunch time! I am so excited about his product!

  89. After hearing so many good comments about ideal Shape I decided to order it, I haven’t used it yet but the only complaint I have so far is the shipping fee $10.00 smh, my order took 9 days to come that sucks. I will come back in a month to do my update

  90. Yesterday was my first day on Idealshape. I had one in the AM that I blended up with low fat milk. I then had an iced coffee (half of a venti) for lunch and went home and ate dinner. But other than that, I was not really hungry! Incredible! I just didn’t feel like eating!

Today I had one in the morning and for lunch had half of a sandwich which even from that I am still stuffed and I ate that an hour ago!

This stuff really DOES NOT make you hungry! It’s amazing and it tastes really good. I blend mine up with some instant coffee. So good.

  91. I, like many others ,came across this site when I was researching Meal Replacement Shakes. I really like your knowledge and honesty, Mrs. R

I have never used a meal replacement shake before, so I am gathering information and trying to get familiar with the ins and outs of it. My questions are:
If I were to replace 2 meals with IdealShape, how many calories would that third meal be? Do others do something other than count calories for the third meal and if yes, what might that be?
Am I correct in thinking that in order to lose weight, you only use the shakes/ third meal and no type of snacks?

Thanks for the help! I am most interested in hearing about everyone’s progress.

    • Mary- I have been counting calories and keeping a log of it in the Daily Burn app, but you could use something else as an equivalent. I first calculated my BMR, then factored in my activity level to determine how many calories I needed in a day to maintain weight. To lose 1 pound a week, you will need to subtract around 500 calories from this baseline value. There are websites that have free calculators for this, but I created my own calculator using excel. Then when I lose a few pounds, I adjust the calories. I drink 2 shakes (breakfast/lunch) and have an apple and another low cal snack which equals about 500 calories. I use my remaining calories for dinner and make sure I don’t exceed my max calories for the day that I had calculated. I do this so I can eat a meal with my hubby at night. I have been doing this M-F for a little over a month and have lost 5-6 pounds without much exercise. I hope that helps you.

      0
    • Mary- I have been replacing breakfast with a shake for 3 weeks now. Have lost 10 pounds. For lunch I have a small salad and water. Dinner I eat a plateful of food(veggies included) and water. Never hungry. Hate to count calories. Good luck.

  94. The product sounds good but I am hesitant to buy since there is sucralose in the product.

    0
    • Hi Sherri, many people confuse Sucralose with Aspartame. Sucralose has had many studies to show that it is a healthy sugar substitute, and ranks higher than Sugar and High Fructose Corn Syrup according to the Center for Science in the Public Interest.

Aspartame is the one that people claim is carcinogenic, though those studies are misrepresented.

      0
      • You’ve gotta be kidding me, You are telling people that sucarlose(splenda) is OK????? It is poison, just like nutrasweet(aspartame) ANY shake with either should never be recommended by you or anyone. It looks like price is the only thing you look at. IE your number one pick, ideal shape, is cheap, but you have to add milk, adding to the price. And it is 100 calories, That is NOT a meal, that is barely a snack. And what kind of protein does it have, and where does it come from. You get what you pay for(usually) If your shake doesn’t have undenatued whey protein from grass fed cows, then dont eat it, especially if you are replacing 2 meals a day, that means you are getting more and more toxins in your body from an inferior product, Mrs R you REALLY need to do your research and stop recommend the best, HEALTHIEST, products, not just the cheapest ones. [IPCSH] is the only shake I have ever seen, and I have done the research, that has undenatured whey from New Zealand grass fed cows, plus all the vitamins and 70 minerals that we need every day, PLUS 7 digestive enxymes. Their shake is less than $3, which you have incorrect, but there isn’t another shake out there that even comes close. I hope you will get more educated about what you are telling people.

        0
        • When reading the first 3 lines of your comment Susan, I thought “Wait for it, wait for it! She’s about to try to sell a different product!”

So now we’re going to play a little game! We’ve removed the brand name Susan suggested and replaced it with IPCSH (Insert Product Commenter is Selling Here). Let’s see who can guess what it is. It might be hard as she’s made some strange claims!

As for your ‘all natural, everything is poison forever unless it was produced by hippies in a loving environment and then hugged to death’ thing…well, sorry we’re not the same way. Aspartame has a bad rap because of misrepresented studies, though there has been a slight link to it as a carcinogen. However, in the study the mice were consuming about 2% of their body weight in Aspartame every day. So…if you’re eating 2-6 lbs of aspartame a day, you might be in trouble!

Sucralose on the other hand has not had a single study showing negative side-effects anywhere near what aspartame has. Check out the Center for Science in the Public Interest where they rank Sucralose higher than natural Sugar and High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Also, most of the shakes on our site are powder forms (we usually get the powder form even if they have both available). That’s a bonus for us because you can choose what you mix it with. Some people make them with water and add no calories to the shake! Some people use almond milk which is the new health fad, and some of us just use milk! I’d prefer having more say in the calories in my shake.

And why do people say “100 calories is too low for this to be effective?” As you can see from all these commenters and from our review, there is no “too low” on how many calories are in it. (Calories are just a measurement of heat after all). If correctly made, a shake will fill you up with as few as calories as possible and then give you the vitamins and minerals your body needs to be healthy and provide energy. That’s exactly what this shake and most of them we review with does. Anything with an 8.5 or above in nutrition does the job pretty successfully.

          • Mrs. R, I had the same thoughts while reading Susan’s comment. I have to say the “produced by hippies in a loving environment and then hugged to death’ thing” comment made me laugh. I’ve been thinking about trying this product but I’ve become skeptical after trying several others (Herbalife, Slimfast, etc). I do not have a sweet-tooth. I don’t use sugar in coffee or tea, nor do I eat pastries or deserts. One comment had me a bit concerned but I haven’t seem much else along that line…

You can taste the sucralose in this and it is VERY sweet to me. For some reason fruit covers the taste and dulls the overly sweet taste.

Has anyone else had this issue? I work 14 hour shifts in a vehicle so having to bring fruit along to make this something I can use would not really work out. Are there any other suggestions for reducing the sweet factor?

            0
          • Sucralose can be pretty sweet for some. There are a lot of ways to counter a sweet taste with mix-ins, but I would recommend trying it. If it IS too sweet for you, you can return it (I’ve heard IdealShape is actually pretty good about returns) and keep trying. We liked the taste, though if too sweet is your issue, maybe try the vanilla. It seemed less sweet to us and it’s easier to use with fruit.

        • “grass-fed cows in New Zealand”? Personally I’m shocked that you would support not only the loss of farming jobs in the United States but the cost and emissions of shipping milk around the world. I own a dairy farm and it’s because of this nonsense that I’m one of the only ones left in the area. Why don’t you try thinking for yourself, using reason and fact-checking, instead of believing everything you read in a merchandising pamphlet?
I have been using this product for almost 3 months now, one shake per day, mixed with water and have lost about 15 lbs. I have more energy and feel like a million bucks.
As for “7 digestive enzymes”, my body produces those on it’s own. I don’t need to pay for them. And neither do you.

Moral of the story: A little information is a dangerous thing.

By the way, Mrs. R, “all natural, everything is poison forever unless it was produced by hippies in a loving environment and the hugged to death”. LOL. My cows enjoy candlelight vigils. But seriously, I hug them as often as possible. :)

Hi Mrs. R.- after reading the reviews from others and your review I bought Ideal Shape and I CANNOT wait to try it! Thanks for this great website! I tried Shakeology and really liked it, but I simply cannot justify the price. I would like to take this to work as my lunch, blending in the blender with almond milk, PB2, and ice, maybe a banana. Has anyone prepared theirs in blender at home in a.m. but let it sit in fridge for a few hours? It would be about 5 hours. Just wondering about consistency, etc. Thanks

  98. Hi Mrs.R,
I am new to this whole meal replacement thing. My main reason of interest in these shakes are to lose a lot of weight. I have been taking birth control for a little over a year now and have gained over 30 pounds!! I am desperate to lose weight and have had a lot of people tell me to look into meal replacement shakes. I just don’t know if IdealShape will help me lose so much weight. I’m willing to just drink this three times a day if it will help me lose this weight (obviously complemented with an exercise routine).
    Please help!!!
    Thank you.

    • Using a meal replacement shake with exercise is a great way to lose weight. However, we do not recommend using this shake to replace all your meals. Using it to replace one or two meals per day will put you on the weight loss path effectively and give you some more variety and substance by planning a 3rd, healthier meal. After all, the goal is permanence and using shakes forever isn’t the goal. Use your third meal to begin learning balanced meals for when you’ve reached your target weight.

  99. thanks so much for having this website! you guys just saved me a ton of time since you did the researching and money by showing me what I would be wasting my money on. It is a great service since there are so many different shakes and knowing all the details is about impossible for the average person. thanks again!

  100. Great site Mrs R. Someone asked about the glycemic index of IdealShape. You said you shot off an email. I didn’t see a response yet. I know potatoes are high glycemic. I am wondering if this potato extract increases the glycemic index.

I also disagree with you about Sucralose and corn syrup. Just google it and you will find plenty of info from credible sources saying that these are harmful or could be harmful. Even if it is in question i would not make a shake for my children to drink on a daily basis with these two ingredients and feel good about it. Just because the Center of Science for the Public Interest says it’s good doesn’t mean it’s good. Personally i have never heard of this organization.

I want to buy IdealShape because of all the positives you stated in your review. But because of these two ingredients I just can’t. I will stick to Stevia at this point. I don’t have a problem with the taste of it.

    4
    • Yes, Dr. Dino, CSPI is just one source and it’s a good one that we like to use. Though, there are plenty of other studies that we can point to, just more sciencey and less layman’s than CSPI, so we link to them when we respond (They post links to the research at the bottom of each post)

      0
      • What about the glcemic index?

        0
        • I think the negatives of being overweight outweigh the ingredients issue for alot of people, atleast it does for me. Just like everything else in the world, there are those that have opinions which may or may not agree with our own.

Sure, if you overdose mice in a lab with anything for long enough, it will be bad for them and you.

          0
        • We called them up, and this is what we were told.

Idealshape MRS milk chocolate and vanilla have a low glycemic index. The estimated DE value is between 10 and 20

  101. I am currently doing homeopathic hcg 500 ca. I am very constipated and a little headachy after 17 days, but have lost 11 lbs. Would it hurt to get off of this and start Ideal Shake, or will I gain back everything that I have lost? I have another 10 to 15 to lose. I am so impressed with the reviews. I, too, know many people doing body vi, but don’t like the pyramid thing. I have some digestive problems that I take meds for. Would this still be suitable for me

    0
    • Hi Sally, I’ll refrain from talking negatively about the HCG thing as we get enough angry commenters as is! But, personally, I would say that switching from HCG is a good idea for more lasting change. Injecting yourself with pregnant lady pee is not what we would consider a long term solution.

Oh, dangit! I was going to try to be good…

  103. I started the shakes a few days ago and am very happy with the taste. I blend them with 8 oz. almond milk (35 cal.) ice and a banana. The banana makes the texture better than with ice alone, but am thinking of nixing it to save 100 or so calories. Does anyone just use the shaker bottle instead of blending with ice? I have also added PB2 which is good.
I can’t say the shakes keep me full or control my cravings…maybe my expectations were too high? I had one at 3pm today and was ready to eat again by about 5. Anyone else experience that? Thanks!

    • I found eating some yogurt and a piece of fruit or some veggies as my two snacks during the day helped me not to feel starved to death by dinner time.

I ordered Slendesta appetite surpressant online 300 mg and it works wonders! I’m a starver and I’ve been having my shakes pretty much they way you have, but I’m having 2 a day , 2 snacks & dinner! I’m not hungry! I really think that the Slendsta is making the difference! I use the shaker bottle with powders but the Ninja with fruits! When you find you’re ready to eat again, have a snack! Everyone has a way that’s good for them
but suggestions can’t hurt! Good Luck Jodi!

  104. jodi brown what is pb2 meaning? no i dnt experience hunger because i usually eat my food at midday but i was late for my scheduled food lol and i have bottle shaker however i rather to use when im outside not in home…i dnt use much ice on my blender shake because i dnt want to get cold or flu

PB2 is powdered peanut butter. It is very good in shakes, or you can add water to it to make actual peanut butter. It can be found online.

  105. This is a great website. I am extremely picky. I have used Slim Fast in the past, but I am starving an hour after drinking a shake. I started Ideal Shape this week. I purchased the chocolate flavor. It is pretty good. I put ice it in and add a little bit more milk because I think it is a little too thick using only 8 ounces of milk. Thank you for taking the time to rate these shakes. The information is helpful in making an informed decision.

I was so excited when I first opened this review! I’ve been looking for a meal replacement, weight loss shake for over a week now. Then, unfortunately, I read the ingredients. With the barley fiber, this makes it poison to me, as I am celiac and gluten intolerant. :-(

Cindy, One nice thing about Herbalife is that most flavors are GF except for the Chocolate. I have been on it for about a month and half and have loved the pina colada blended with orange juice and some frozen strawberries. There must be other GF ones but I know for sure some of the Herbalife is. Good luck on your search!

  107. I started IdealShape on Tuesday night, I went all out and got the 4 can deal so I knew I was going to be commited regardless for 4 months – just couldn’t pass up the savings (esp these days). So honestly, I favor the chocolate over the vanilla (thought it would be the opposite). They taste ok, but nothing like real food… But I have made the commitment so it is what it is. I am replacing my dinner with the shake and truthfully, I do feel full afterwards – no hunger pains which suprises me. I weigh in tomorrow morning but a/o this morning, doing nothing more than the shake at dinner(no exercise this week) I’m down 3 LBS! I’m anxious to see what happens next week, since my body will be used to the new routine. So far so good, I’ll take results like this anyday! P.S. The mixer bottle is pretty cool, I like that. I’ll try to come here next weekend and post how I’m doing so folks will know. See ya.

Thanks for the review by the way, I read this before ordering last week.

  108. So I just ordered this. The 16 on shipping kinda took me back, but figured in the 5 for the coupon (thank you Mrs. R) and I felt better :)
I ordered the chocolate which was a tough decision to make since I only like Vanilla if there are strawberries or such mixed in but I want to watch my caloric intake and will prolly add 2% milk or something of the like…
I hate the taste of soy so have my fingers crossed on that.
I will be doing a 2 meal replacement since I sit most the day at work and will try this for a month.
What I am looking at is losing 10lbs a month and since I am 47 and NEED to loose 60 (but would be very happy with 40) I think this is a very realistic goal.
I did not get the supplements – just an FYI
I’ll post again after doing this for a week for any out there like me who wants someone to compare themselves to.
I am very thrilled to have found so much on this website and hope I can add positively to it!

    • Jennifer, I also just purchased the program (and have started it today). I’m in my early 40′s, work at a computer and could stand to lose 60 pounds. So we sound like we are in the same boat. I can totally relate :). I’m hoping this will be the thing to jump start my weightloss. Have you considered the CD’s? Would love to hear what you think of the shakes. Take care…

      • We are alike Kerri. I’m 47 and have 3 kids. Since the boys are 13i can no longer blame them.
So I started these yesterday. I replaced breakfast and lunch. Had the 1st one at 8 and didn’t very hungry until after 11:30. Had the 2nd one around then for lunch and had a small cup if popcorn around 3.
I downloaded into my fitlife and tried to hit 1200 calories for the day. was shy by 138 so need to work on that.
I will say I use almond milk because I cannot stand the taste of soy (smells strongly of soy) and I think the almond milk helps because it tastes pretty good and only adds 35 calories. So, so far so good

        • I will start taking the shakes tomorrow (March 1st). I am an active person who does walking with some running and weigh training. My weight hardly comes off and I am totally frustrated. I live an active life style. I am hoping that this works. Should I be haveing a snack in between my shake for breakfast and lunch or noting? I welcome any advice as I am new to this program.

          • I started 3 weeks ago. I am 49 and need to lose 40 pounds. Have lost 10 pounds so far. I drink a shake for breakfast but it usually takes me 2 hours to drink. Small salad for lunch. And plate of food at dinner. Drink lots of water it really makes you feel full. Good luck.

            0
          • Thank you Patty. We seem to have the same similaries. I’m 46 and would like to loose 30-40 pounds. Again, I started on March 1st. Only had one shake that day and find the taste great. However, about 2 hours later I was hungry. Has a few multi grain crackers with peanut butter to hold me over. The second day (today) i blender my shakes with 1/2 banana which held me a little bit longer. I am going to go out and buy a scale tonight since I don’t own one. I think that I will cut up some fruits and veggies to have in between my breakfast and lunch shakes then eat dinner. I exercise just about every day so i am hoping for some decent weight loss. I gave up my coffee on the first day (only have 1-cup per day) but ended up with a pounding headache. Is it bad to have an ice coffee in the morning? Thanks for your comments.

            0
          • Sunny- I couldn’t go without my coffee in the morning. I drink that first. Take my shake with me to work and sip on it. You don’t need to buy a scale…your clothes will start to get loose quickly. You can even try instant coffee in the shake for a change. I like it with the chocolate. Truly have not been hungry, but I drink a lot of water. It seems to bring back e full feeling.

        • I just wanted to give a little suggestion. I have the chocolate Shakeology and one thing that it says you can mix with it is 4 oz of coffee, 4 oz of almond milk/skim milk, and ice to make a frozen, blended coffee. Much like the MooLatte’s at Dairy Queen which I LOVE! Just not nearly the calories and is way better for you! I recommend mixing it like that. Its become a favorite for me!

  110. Hello everyone! I just ordered my Idealshape replacement shakes actually 3 with one bottle of supplements. I will receive them by Saturday I hope. I will let you know how I am doing as the days go by. I promise! I know that some of you do not post results, which is what we are looking for on here. I turn 50 next month and I weigh 226…my heaviest! I could blame it on a lot of things, but I won’t because everyone has heard it before…right?

Wish me luck and your support!

I happened upon your reviews of Ideal Shape after searching for the Visalus shakes. Your site of comparisons of shakes is not the only one, so no one can say you are promoting on over the other. Your site was the 2nd separate site I came across while researching what meal replacement shake for weight loss would be best for me…this time around the bend.

After reviewing both I have ordered the 3 tub package with the download free book and the bonus Resverashape. I then ordered 3 of the brain cd’s separately. If I’m going to do it I’m going all out. I was pleasantly surprised that the shipping wasn’t too bad. Haven’t received it yet but can’t wait to try it…I need something to help me and I am desperate at 5′ 2″ and at an obese 250 pounds. I lost 130 pounds about 5 years ago….and thus gained every drop back. Now I’m back to hbp and high cholesterol. This is one reason I ordered the brain hypnosis CDs. I’m going to leave these things on all night long and maybe something will seep into my subconscious and help me get my act together. I am of course a librarian to 2 elementary schools grades 1-4. I work with small ones all day and then have 4 children of my own. My husband travels all over all the time for work so basically I always feel drained. I want to see some reviews after you guys do this for more than a month to help me stay focused! I’ll be back as soon as I get my shipment! My plan is to do 2 shakes a day 2 healthy snacks and 1 healthy meal (do I know how to cook one??) and somehow in all the free time I have work out for at least 30 minutes at the local Anytime Fitness. We’ll see. I have 140 pds to lose. Pray for me!

Well, I got my shakes, reversashape, and the Brain Training CDs (I picked 3) today! I just ordered them Friday! so that was awesome. Since they came after breakfast I had one vanilla shake with 6 ounces of Fat Free milk for lunch. It was great! I couldn’t believe how good it tasted. No aftertaste. It actually made me think I was drinking a milk shake…just a little thinner. It wasn’t gritty. It was very smooth. I drank it right down! Then about mid afternoon I felt the need for something so I ate a dill pickle. I drank my 8 glasses of water over the rest of the day and I did take one Reversashape capsule mid afternoon with my water. That held me until supper. For supper I had another vanilla shake since I had ate a normal breakfast before the shakes came. This time I used water, ice cubes, and fresh blueberries and made it in my smoothie maker. It was great! Still not gritty….just smooth and blueberry and vanilla. No aftertaste. Just really tasty. I think I can do this!! Excited to see what I will put together with them tom. I took pic of myself, measured, and put up my old pics of myself for motivation. I did purchase 3 of the Brain Training CD’s because…why not? Trying those tonight. I am working on my 28 days goals. Will let you know in a week how I am doing. I want others to get the feedback that I was interested in when I was deciding whether to purchase this product or not. So far I am loving the shakes.

  111. i am a 25 year old mother of 2 young children. i have put on a lot of weight since high school. i was 135 when i graduated and now a sad 235. i need to loose a lot of weight to be healthy again. would you recommend this for someone likeme who realistically needs to lose 80 lbs or more ?

    0
    • Yes Jennifer, we would. We would recommend most of these shakes for helping to lose weight, though remember it’s not going to be the shakes alone.

Your other meals in the day should be as healthy as you can get and it should all be combined with a proper exercise regimen. (We would suggest at the very least 30 minutes, 3 times a week)

      Good luck!

  112. I received my idealshape about a week ago. I’ve been drinking it once a day. I got the supplements with it as well. I was 244 when I weighed myself 2 weeks ago and am now 237, over 6 lbs when first started I think thats pretty great! I

It didn’t keep me full as much as I’d have hoped but it may just because my body is getting used to switching from 3 large meals to smaller meals so my stomach expects more. That’s my theory at least.

  113. Do you only replace breakfast with the shake or can you replace breakfast and lunch?

  114. Hello and thank you so much for the information! I was told by a friend about the Isagenix shakes and went on the internet to search for information about them and came across your website. I am so happy that I did, as I found the information and the comparisons extraordinarily helpful. Like others, I saw your high marks for the IdealShape shakes and I have just received my shipment of both the vanilla and milk chocolate flavors. I had the chocolate mixed with water, ice and a banana this morning and it was everything you said it would be!

I am tracking the nutritional content of my food through sparkpeople.com, which gives you a place to input food and all of the nutritional values. I used the link you supplied above to input all of the figures and I had a question. Since there are quite a few vitamins/minerals that are close to the suggested daily value, should you limit taking a multivitamin on the days you drink a shake – particularly if you drink 2? I am concerned with overdoing it, but I have also read that the recommended daily values are the bare minimums you should intake. Since I’m new to the whole shake concept, I’d be curious if you could shed any light on that.

Thank you for a great website!

  115. OK. I’m sold on Idealshape. I usually have a slimfast for breakfast because of the convenience of it. Just get tired of having to go back and buy more plus the room they take up in my fridge. This looks like a much better option. Especially because of the lower sugar content.

I am glad I found your website. I was going to try shakeology due to a friend recommending it but The price is just more than I am willing to pay right now. Plus it sounds like Idealshake tastes better.

  116. Has anybody used the free shaker to mix their shakes instead of a blender? If so, how does it taste not blended? How’s the texture? How effective is the reversa supplement because I only ordered the shake?

  119. I found this website while looking for a review for right size smoothie. I almost bought it and I’m glad I didn’t! I ordered the 120 day supply of Idealshape in chocolate, and I should have by Monday! I too was looking for a complete meal replacement that kept me full for a very long time. I have lost 60 lbs and I need to lose 60 more to be at my ideal weight. I will definitely keep everybody posted. I plan on replacing breakfast and lunch and eating a low carb dinner. So wish me luck!!!

      • Hey Miss Piggy!! I lost 60 prior to Idealshape! I’m on week 2 and I’m down a total of 10 pounds! My plan was to do two shakes a day, but I only did one! But starting today I did have one for breakfast and one for lunch and a good old sensible dinner! I’ve also started to amp up my walks to 10 miles a day! (don’t worry, I’ve been working toward this for a while). I’m trying to lose the last 60 with Idealshape! I’m going to continue with two a day until I hit my goal! Also, almond milk, or soy milk tastes just as good as skim! But don’t use water, it tasted like chocolate water! Lol! Good luck to you!

  120. I was on the internet one morning before work when I found this website. I started reading many of the products reviewed here. After reading the reviews I decided based on my own body issues I went and ordered 1 container of IdealShape. I have never, ever, used protein shakes or meal replacement products. I decided to purchase for 2 reasons. First to try it and see what it tastes like and to see if I could use the shake to curb my sweet tooth. Second to see if I could lose some weight. I started taking the shakes to work only (5 days a week) and drink 1 shake a day along with a large assortment of fruits and vegetables and sensible meals. So far since Feb. 4th I’m down 8.8 lbs. I exercise daily approx 1 hour. I bought the chocolate flavor and find it very filling and satisfying along with no gritty or after taste. Thank you very much for providing this website it has been very helpful for me. As far as IdealShape goes, I will be purchasing another container as well as eating a cleaner diet. It has met all my expectations!

  122. I appreciate the work that you have put in to reviewing these products on our behalf!! I came to this site in my search for reviews on Body by Vi and Shakeology. Both of which I am being “pursued” to try. Based on your reviews (and the price), I ordered the IdealShape instead and I took advantage of your $5. coupon, thank you!! I have to agree, the taste is better than any I have tried. The first shake seemed a little sweet to me, but I am getting used to it, I look forward to it and it is very drinkable!! (I ordered chocolate). I made a committment to myself to replace at least 1 meal a day with a shake, if not 2, and exercise daily for the next 90 days. The exercise in itself will help immensely so I am anxious to see what happens. Will check back in 90 days!!

I am VERY sensitive to ANY caffiene and even herbal stimulants! Does this product have any of those items in it? Many thanks!

    0
    • Hi Penny, if by herbal stimulants, you mean stuff like green tea extract, then no. That’s not in the shake.

Green Tea (and therefore caffeine) can be found in the ResveraShape pills so you might want to avoid those.

  124. Okay, as promised I’m back! My shakes came in on Monday the 5th and I started the program today! My plan was to replace two meals with the shake and eat a meal. Well I have to tell you, I drank a shake after my workout and had lunch of grilled shrimp and broccoli, and I have had no problems with hunger! I drank the shake at about 7:00 a.m. And ran some errands, and I didn’t feel the slightest bit hungry till about sometime after 11:00 a.m. So I ate lunch, and now, I’m typing this, and it is 3:49 p.m. and I’m just starting to feel like I could eat something! I’m going to be drinking a shake for dinner tonight, but I feel like I can switch it up to however my day goes! I’m really glad I bought this! I’ll check in again next week!!

  125. I forgot to mention that when I made the shake I used Almond Milk regular flavor, I did use skim because me and milk don’t get along! Lol!

  126. Christina says:

I was excited to read about IdealShape, as I like many others, do not want to pay the high price for Shakeology, until I read the ingredient list. Sucralose is not sugar – it’s a chemically derived sweetner. This killed it for me. I wish more products would switch to stevia if they don’t use cane sugar. The ingredient list was mouse print for ProGrade – would you confirm that it does not contain sucralose?

  127. I am so excited…just ordered today. I also ordered Body by Vi (off Amazon so as to avoid any possible continued charging) 1 month of meal shakes. I’m going to try these both with my husband (one at a time as to tell any differences). We both need to loose 30- 50 pounds each. I am so thankful for this site and it seemingly unbiased reviews. That is very helpful when making decisions! I will try to remember to check back a week after trying IdealShape and give my own opinions and *success**!!!

    • Follow up—I must say that I am disappointed in the taste! I know this is a personal preference, but for me, compared to Body by Vi shakes—B.b.V wins in taste by FAR. IdealShake is much better in fullness factor, but I couldn’t stomach the taste, and most certainly wasn’t looking forward to my next shake (as I was with BbV). I got vanilla and have tried it both in blender and shaker, with milk. I will try it with adding fruit or PB2 today…I really want to like it!!! I was rooting for Ideal Shape (I do not like MLM and pressure in buying anything), but honestly prefer Body by Vi, and I need something I like to keep me going. Has any one else felt this way about Ideal Shape, or are we (hubby and I both) the only ones? The shake tastes like Atkins to me…which again, was quite unpleasant to us and felt like I was making myself finish it. I think nutrition and full feeling are great, but it has to taste good or I know myself, and i won’t continue (hello, obviously I’m overweight and like things that taste good ;0)

      • Patrick T says:

If you didn’t order the appetite suppresent (ViTrim) in addition to the powder, then that’s why you aren’t feeling full with BBV.

This was the kicker for me. IdealShape already has the hunger-blocker built into the powder.

BBV’s MLM turned me off as well. I’m not an outgoing, gregarious person, and hate salespeople, so why would I want to become one? Makes no sense. I want to give you money for a product that works without me having to purchase a lot of extra stuff.

IdealShape is the right solution for me.

  128. i started these shakes last month & lost 10#. i have a slow metabolism due to hypothyroidism. i have struggled with my weight for 7-8 yrs. i weighed 200# & was only able to lose 30 of that after 2 years of working a very physical job. i found that after i was diagnosed with the thyroid problem i couldn’t eat enough. i was ALWAYS hungry. these shakes really curb my hunger. i don’t use the resverashape since i don’t do well with caffeine but i feel better. i sleep better, my digestion has improved, i actually have some energy, & my heartburn isn’t as bad as it was before i started the shakes. my ideal weight for my height & build is 120#. i still have 40 to go but now have some confidence that i’ll get there. i have this site to thank for the reviews & found the best shake for my budget & my health. thank you so much! i’m now also trying it with my 3 teens who are also overweight. they do less snacking & eat more fruits & vegetables as their snacks now. they do a shake in the morning for breakfast & LOVE them.

    5
    • I too have a hypothyroid autoimmune disease, but am taking synthroid and cytomel to regulate it. I am not allowed to use my thyroid as an excuse, since it is in proper range with synthetic hormones. Do you feel that way, or are you untreated? My Endocrinologist said it should never be an issue for my weight or energy as long as I am in range on my levels. Just wondering your thoughts

  129. I received my shakes Friday evening and I’m gonna try some for breakfast tomorrow which is Sunday. Monday going to work will be kind of a problem, though. I’ve had protein/meal replacement shakes before and I freeze them the night before because I don’t have access to a refrigerator for cold water. Anybody have experience freezing their shakes? I hope the nutrients don’t breakdown.

  130. I have been enjoying the chocolate shakes for the past month. I just ordered another month (Choc and Vanila). I use water, add greek yogurt, a banana and stawberries (or blueberries). It tastes really great. I regularly have one for breakfast and another for lunch. These shakes really suppress my appetite. I have lost 6 lbs over the past 30 days. My digestive system is definately on the right tract. I really like this product.

  131. So this is the second time I’ve been on your website. The first was brief because I was at work…didn’t have time to read reviews. Both times I got on here because I was surfing for Shakeology reviews. Since I had time to read reviews, I directly related to the first review from Felicia on May 12, 2011 at 6:26 pm. I just had a baby 7 months ago and work a full time job, so I don’t have time to prepare meals even on weekends. I am looking to replace 2 meals a day. I tend to forget to drink throughout the day when I am at work, so I plan to make one shake in the morning to drink at work. The other I will determine according to my husband’s work schedule (2 weeks of day shift then 2 weeks of afternoon shift). The weeks he is on day shift we will be able to eat dinner together. The weeks he is on afternoons I will eat lunch at work, so I can spend the evening with my daughter. It makes sense when I prepare her formula to eat along supplementing fruits, vegetables and proteins in her diet. I plan purchase a 3 month supply of Idealshape. My short term goal is to lose 10lbs by April 21st. Look forward to posting results!

  132. I’ve tried the vanilla and the chocolate and they both are DELICIOUS!! Even without adding fruit they’re good. For my first shake, I used plain water, a few ice cubes, and one scoop of meal replacement. If you add fruit, it’s over the top good.

    5
  133. I have been drinking one shake for breakfast for the last 5 weeks. Have lost 11.5 pounds without doing anything extra. I eat a salad for lunch and anything for dinner. This shake is great!

    Hey Mrs. R:
How would you compare this shake to ISAGENIX? I was on Isagenix for 2 months and lost 22lbs along with doing water aerobics twice a week. Could you please do a comparison to them? Many thanks – Christine
ALSO – I encourage others to please leave more about your weight loss results with this product. I would really like to know long term – how ppl have done.
    THANKS!

I have always done really well on Isagenix, too. It’s so expensive though, I can’t afford to use the products very often. I just ordered IdealShape. 3 months for less than $130 including shipping. So the price is definitely better!

  135. I just replied to Miss Piggy, but I’ll repost for everybody else too! So far I’ve lost ten pounds, I was walking at least 5 miles a day six days a week. Today, I’ve started to replace breakfast and lunch, and I’ve amped up the mileage to 10 for my daily walks! So next week I promise to post an update! I mix the shakes with unsweetened almond milk, and nothing else! I’m not a fan of fruit and chocolate (I know I’m weird)! I do eat snacks, such as reduced fat string cheese, strawberries, or raw veggies. For dinner, I eat fish, grilled chicken breast, and I’ll pair either meat with steamed veggies. Oh and I started off weighing 196.7 and now I’m 186.4. And the walking 10 miles really isn’t that bad especially since I’ve been walking for so long, so don’t fret! Lol! See you guys next week!

  136. Thank you so much for this information. This is exactly what I needed. I walk between 2 and 4 miles every evening. I also attend Zumba classes. This fat around my waistline just won’t go away! I decided to try meal replacement shakes to curb my appetite and to stop the incessant snacking. The Idealshape looks like a winner to me. I’ll try it and keep you updated. Many Blessings and Much Love to you all.

If you visit the company’s website, there are a number of success stories. One man has lost 140 lbs over the past 9-10 months. Another dropped 65 lbs over a 6 month span, I believe.

  138. I, like so many others, found this website by mistake while doing research on Shakeology. I recently received a ‘free’ sample of the Chocolate Shakeology and was trying to decide if I was going to start buying it every month. Boy am I glad I found this site! After reading through the reviews I decided to go with IdealShape instead – mostly because it costs less. I ordered a kit with two tubs so I could try both flavors. I just put in my order a couple of hours ago and to my surprise – I have already received an email saying my order has shipped! I thought that was so awesome. My shipping cost is only about $12 which really isn’t that bad. I’ll be sure to come back and update everyone once my package gets here. I am planning to replace 2 meals a day at least for the first month.

  139. I just wanted to thank everyone for their great comments…I found this website on accident like everyone else while also researching Shakeology & Vi shakes.I’ve been trying to loss weight for a while. I’m a mother of 2 & I’ll be graduating from college in May and would love to loss 10+ lbs before graduation night (although my goal is to loss 30 lbs). I just ordered the two month supply and really wish that the shipping wasn’t soooo expensive ($24.95 was the cheapest shipping). But the $5 off coupon helped, so thanks for that. Can’t wait to start!

  140. Does anyone know if ideal shake is gluten free? I can’t find any info on their website – thanks!!

    0
    • These shakes contain oats on the ingredient list. They are not Gluten Free.

      0
      • SunnyOne says:

There is some disagreement out there about whether oats are actually gluten offenders, so some would consider this product to be gluten-free. Better safe than sorry, though!

        0
        • That was just the first gluten product we noticed. It wasn’t the only one. I would probably call them up but I don’t think this product is for someone with a gluten allergy.

  141. After reading through this website, I decided to order two tubs of Ideal Shape, one chocolate and one vanilla. Yesterday was my first day drinking the them. After reading the reviews, I was surprised that the taste wasn’t more enjoyable. For breakfast I drank a chocolate shake made with skim milk using the blender bottle. For lunch I had a vanilla shake blended with water, a little bit of ice and blueberries in the blender. This morning for breakfast I made a chocolate shake with low-calorie vanilla almond milk, which did taste better than the previous two. The taste definitely isn’t unpleasant enough to make me stop drinking them. I’ve gained 14 lbs in the less than a year, so I’m working to lose that weight along with a couple of additional pounds. I currently weigh 146 and my goal is 130 (I’m 5’6). I’ll come back and update in a couple of weeks. :) In the meantime, does anyone have a source for shake recipe ideas?

    0
    • Jamie, there is a recipe book for IdealShape that you should have been able to download that has lots of recipes and advice in it. I don’t remember the name of it but go to the website and check it out. I think the taste on its own is great but if you don’t, you can always add a little fruit to it in and blend it.

  142. I tried the chocolate Ideal Shake and thought it had a horrible aftertaste. It is going back. I have used isogenix and think it tastes way better. I do not like artificial sweeteners and that is the strong aftertaste Idealshake tastes like.

  143. I have been using this for almost a week – I was using the Visalus prior… I can’t believe how much better of a product overall this is! Cost is great in comparison, taste is better, and it leaves me feeling full about 3 -3.5 hours where Visalus was only about 2 hours and that was with the appetite suppressant that I purchased separately. I don’t know if I would give Visalus as high of a rating that this website did, but definitely agree with the rating of Ideal Shape – great referral – thank you!

    0
  144. Hi,

My husband and I are currently using Visalus, which we’ve been using since July of 2011. We really enjoy the taste of it because of the base flavor (Sweet Cream), which goes with just about any type of mix I’ve done with it. He and I are at our ideal weight, just looking to build more lean muscle. We’re both very active and exercise 4-6 days/week We generally eat quite a bit, but it’s because of how active we are (or so I keep telling myself!) We don’t do too bad with our eating but like I said, our goal is to build more lean muscle! So basically, I’m wondering if this shake mix would do that? Would our results be good if we used this after our workout, and then again at lunch? Because we don’t use Visalus for lunch, only after our workouts in the morning..

Thank you, any information will be helpful!
    -Liz

  145. Okay, I’m late but I’m back again. So when I started Idealshape I was 196.7. As of today, I am 175.4. I wish I could upload pictures on here but I don’t know how. I started with one shake a day, then went up to two shakes a day, then went back to one shake a day! This seems to be a better deal for me. I am still eating two meals, both with a lean protein and a veggie, and I still walk between 8 and 10 miles a day(split between two walks). So, my total weight loss is 21 pounds in less than a month(next week will be a month). I’ll try to post a little more, but I usually weigh myself every two weeks.

I am so happy I found this website. I will be ordering Idealshape right away. I used Shakeology (chocolate) for a few months and loved the stuff. For the past year I have been trying to find a cheaper substitute. I came across Idealshape’s website earlier this week, but I never trust a shake until I find an actual review that isn’t trying to sell it to me. Also, I find the comments section to be the most important part of the review. It lets me know that there is an actual discussion taking place about the product, and it is not just salesman trying to convince me to buy his product.

    Hey guys,
I just purchased IdealShape Shakes package of 3 tubs and all the extras. Im super excited about the purchase, for the last 3 days I’ve been using Right Size Smoothie and love the flavor but hate how thick and hard it is to mix up. I also feel very hungry about 2 hours after drinking it. SO, after reading all the reviews I am super ready! I’ve lost 6 lbs in 3 days on the Right Size Smoothing and I’m crossing my fingers for better results from IdealShape! I MOST DEF will repost later about my results!
    Good Luck Everyone!!

  152. I have to say that I am always skeptical about these products. They all claim to taste great and be good for you. After looking at all of the responses I thought I’d give it try. WOW!! This stuff really is good! It is smooth and full flavored. In the words of my ten year old, “Gosh, you can’t even tell its something healthy, I could drink it all day!” This is a shake that you will look forward to drinking! I’m having a hard time eating my one meal each day because the shake is that good. For me that is monumental because I am a fatty and food is my friend! LOL Try it, you won’t be sorry.:)

  153. I was using Shakeology, but it was killing me to spend $120 a month. I have been using IdealShape for a couple of months now and LOVE it. The taste is great and it does keep my hunger down. I eat it for breakfast and am not even hungry until lunch time. I started using it with the intention of helping me to lose 10lbs, to date I have lost 8lbs and am down 1 size. I do exercise daily though. I would highly recommend.

  155. I am considering ordering this after reading all of the reviews. I have also reviewed all of the other products out there and have narrowed it down to this. I have about 40+ pounds to lose, and after trying everything from WW to JC have decided to try the meal replacement strategy. I have been told that even tho I eat relatively healthy I don’t eat enough, so I am hoping that this will vamp up my metabolism. I am recovering from ankle surgery and hope to be walking soon, and eventually back into jogging/running. Packed on the pounds after quitting JC, but just cannot afford those types of programs (have a very high stress job and rationalize its stress thats packing it on).
While I love all the feedback about the shakes, I haven’t seen many discussions about the tapes they offer. Has anyone used these and found them helpful? I was leaning towards ordering the large package that came with 4 tubs, shaker, supplement and tapes. Any suggestions on the best CD to order? Has anyone tried these and found them beneficial? I did watch some Youtube videos and found them helpful. Just curious with all these users on here if they are using the hynotherapy too. Thanks! Wish me luck!

  156. YUM! YUM! YUM! I did alot of poking around out there on the web for the most cost efficient and tasty meal replacement shake out there. It became a little confusing with the “meal replacement shake” vs. “protein shake,” but alas! I did find this site and decided to take the leap. I ordered the chocolate and vanilla flavors (because I just couldn’t decide). I LOVE both, but everyone has a favorite and mine is the vanilla due to its versatility. I really love the flavor and it is truly very satisfying. I use it to make fruit and green smoothies. It has been a life saver during my transition to healthy eating habits. I have only been using the shake for 2 weeks and use it every day and sometimes 2 times a day. I have lost 3-1/2 pounds. I know – WHOOPEE! It’s not a lot. However, I feel amazing. I am sleeping better, am in a better mood overall, and have more energy. I have also been working out with the Turbo Jam program (only have been able to do the Learn & Burn, 20 minute workout, & Ab Jam so far). I have lost an amazing amount of inches for just 2 weeks. I finally feel as though I am on the right track and IdealShape has made it all possible for me :) It helps satisfy my hunger, snacking urges, gives me more energy, and is so yummy! It is truly something you can live with as a replacement for breakfast, dinner, or even a snack. Thank you SOOOOO much for the review!

    5
  157. I should have probably mentioned that I don’t have much to lose – which probably accounts for only a 3-1/2 pound weight loss in two weeks. When I did have quite a bit to lose about 8 years ago, I went to Weight Watchers and lost 9 pounds the first week. Please remember when you are looking at claims of huge weight loss, it is relative to the amount of weight that person needs to lose. I only have about 15 pounds to lose right now. Back then, I had about 50 pounds to lose. Because I can never seem to control my diet – I’m always toying with 15-20 pounds, I am a yo-yo gainer/loser. IdealShape is truly making a huge difference in my eating habits. I am much less hungry, stay full longer, and most importantly I sleep well and have more energy! Try it – you won’t be disappointed ;)

    5
  158. If the shakes are only 100 calories each, how could you replace a meal with that low amount of calories and still be full?

    0
    • Calories are a measurement of heat. Fiber is dense and fills you up more easily, and the main source of calories in many shakes is from the proteins and sugar. Having more sugar doesn’t make you feel fuller.

Using the right kind of calories can fill you up easily. The whole point of a meal replacement shake is to give you the nutrients you need, and fill you up at lower calories. Check out some of the comments in this review, many people talk about how full they feel after the shake.

  159. I decided to order this product after reading your review- I was going to try shakeology but I got a free sample and it tasted awful to me. I ordered the 3 month supply (best deal) and have been using it for a month- most days just 1 a day but a few days of 2. I just finished my first container (there were actually 33 1/2 servings) and went to open my 2nd one- the seal was broken on it. So I called customer service because I did not think that was ok. Their service person who answered (Whitney?) was very polite and explained that happens sometimes during shipping. They are sending me another container free of charge. You can hardly find customer service like that anymore!
On top of that, I think it tastes great, and I am feeling much better (and lighter) with using their MRS and eating healthier. I am a college student on a tight budget, and this product has been worth its cost.

    0
    • I forgot to mention that “feeling better” means I’m sleeping better, have more energy (literally I wake up before my alarm goes off which is a shocker for ANY college student)

And I didn’t leave my rating, it’s on this one.

      • Hey Hannah

I’ve been looking into meal replacement shakes, and i too was thinking of shakeology but was put off by the price. Have you noticed any weight loss or any other effects? I am a college student too and need something that won’t hurt the wallet too much and will still have the hunger blocker! Thanks :)

  160. Well I just placed an order for the whole package, including all of the CD’s. I will definately come back and update everyone. I am looking forward to seeing my progress. All of the posts on here, and all of the valuable information, led me to purchase Idealshape over Body By Vi. I’ll be back with updates. Have a great day everyone!

  161. I received my shakes (chocolate and vanilla) two days ago and replaced my breakfast and dinner with the shakes. In the morning I mixed the chocolate with 1% milk because I’m super hungry and in the evening I blended the vanilla with water, ice and half a banana. I can’t believe I haven’t been any hungrier than normal. I can’t wait to see how much weight I can lose. Will post an update in a week or two.

  162. I’d like to hear what you guys think of the ResversaShape that comes with your order if you order 3 tubs. It’s supposed to suppress the appetite. Since it has caffeine in it, I’m afraid to try it because sometimes caffeine, such as in coffee, makes me feel sick. I’m ok with chocolate or colas, for some reason, though. Thanks.

  163. Thanks for the review and the coupon code! I just ordered a 90 day supply and am looking forward to trying it. I just finished a 7-day bag of Shakeology and I loved it – it gave me such an amazing feeling of wellness. It seemed to curb my cravings and raise my mood, and it helped me lose about 2 pounds in a week. However, the price was just too much. I don’t pay $4-5 per day on breakfast, so looking at it that way just didn’t make sense. Just by looking over the website, I feel that if price wasn’t a factor, I’d do Shakeology because it has so many natural ingredients and claim health benefits besides the weight loss (lowering cholesterol and aiding in digestion), but this seems like a good alternative when you factor in value. I am hoping that this shake will give me the healthy sense of well-being that Shakeology does!

  164. Is anyone doing the shakes with just diet and exercise? I’m not too hip on the hyponsis aspect of the plan. I have been doing very well at controlling and eliminating soda and junk food from my diet. It’s the exercise part that’s harder for me. I tried samples of Shakeolgy from a friend and loved it, I lost 2lbs the first week. I just don’t like the price.

Try mixing in fruits, berries, or even different types of milk. I’ll be using Almond Milk, personally. I hear PB2 (powdered peanut butter which is pretty popular) also makes an excellent mixer with the chocolate.

  166. I am about to try this and I was checking out and researching the shake packages and the Starter packages i noticed that the starter packages come with the Slendesta Extract Supplement. Now in your review you mentioned that the Slendesta helped in aiding to aquire the full feeling. By that did you mean that there is Slendesta in the shakes them selves or that the combination of the shake and the supplement was making you feel more full??
I ask because the supplment definitely increases the price and I am/was hoping that the shake will be enough without having to add those supplements to feel more full.

    0
    • I was unaware that ResveraShape has any Slendesta in it. However, we just tested the shakes and they did the job just fine without the supplement.

EDIT: Okay it looks like they just released a ResveraShape Plus which does have slendesta in it. But like we said, the shake works just fine without it to us.

      • Excellent! Well I can’t wait to try them for myself. I have mine on order and i will post again after a few weeks of sampling. Thank you for the help!

Both the powder and the supplement (ResveraShape) contain Slendesta. The supplement isn’t needed, as many find that the amount built into the powder is more than enough.

ResveraShape also contains green tea extract, which is supposed to help with weight loss as well. It’s compared to caffeine often, so do further research if needed.

  167. Well, after reading your reviews of many shakes, I’ve ordered these… Will update when I try them :) I got the 30-day supply for $56.95 including shipping and your $5 off discount.Still much more affordable than Shakeology and many others!! Thanks!

  169. Thank you so much for your independent reviews! I bought a one-month supply of IdealShape just over a week ago. The first morning, I mixed the shake with almond milk and ice. I was incredibly hungry just over 90 minutes later. The following day, I added a banana to the mix and could not believe the difference. I felt full for close to 4 hours, just in time to start thinking about lunch. I’m some days, I’ve replaced two meals (breakfast and dinner) with the shakes and added a small snack in the evening (piece of toasted low-carb bread for example). I am down close to 4 pounds in 9 days. I am pleasantly surprised with the results. Counting calories has always been incrediby difficult for me due to hunger issues. I am hoping the IdealShape continues to help me manage those issues!

First, I found this site a few weeks ago when researching Body by Vi (fitness center that my wife and I are members of currently is promoting it), but found the IdealShape’s price point (and LACK of MLM component) are much more my style.

We talked it over, and decided to jump in with both feet. I ordered the 4-tub package (120 servings–2 months worth of meals for both of us; 2 choc. and 2 vanilla), which also included the eBook (VERY GOOD BOOK; $20 normally), 2 bottles of ResveraShape supplement ($30/bottle normally), and a blender bottle ($8 normally). This package was only $160 (retailed for $300). Nearly 50% savings! Pretty amazing.

The shipping wasn’t horrible ($18 coming from Utah to NC) for the assumed weight, so that’s not a bother, and once we get on the free-shipping program, it won’t be an issue at all.

We haven’t received the package yet, but I will come back and update this once we’ve given it a shot. I’m 32 and currently 250 and need to get to 180, and I am up to the challenge. I work out at the gym between 4-5 days per week for 30-45 minutes each, mainly focusing on weights with a small cardio component. Looking forward to seeing my high-school weight again!

Love the review, by the way!!

Started the shakes Friday evening (May 4), although I started a lifting routine on Monday. At any rate, I weighed myself this morning (May 6) and I’ve lost 5 pounds in a week!

I finally feel like I can drop pounds consistently with these shakes! Thank you, MRSM!

        My progress:

        Day 1: 253.4
        Day 8: 249.6
        Day 15: 243.6

I would say that dropping 10 pounds in a 2-week span is a fantastic initial test for this. My goal is 180 by May 1 of next year. With these shakes, I should be able to hit that quicker than I thought.

  171. Thank you so much for the honest reviews.

I have been reviewing the different “sales company” shakes trying to find the best fit for me. So many of the reviews are obviously from people who sell the product that it is difficult to find out how people really feel about it. I have found, even if you talk to someone using these products, they are doing the “pitch” so I don’t know if I can believe what they are saying.

To me, weight loss or how you do it such a private thing, the last thing I want is a cheer leader trying to push me to buy something or at the point I do buy the product, push me to sell it. That, I think, is why I love your site. Through all of the comments, you are standing by your opinion, and not letting anyone push you around. The comments alone are eye openers. I realized really fast which companies are cheer leaders – therefore – the companies I wanted to avoid.

I am placing my order for Ideal Shape today. It sounds like, overall, it is the best solution for what I am looking for. My only wish is that it didn’t have to be ordered on line. Maybe one day

Thank you again for the honest reviews. Keep them coming!

I will try to remember to come back out and post a comment – but – with 3 active kids it may be awhile. :)

I’m drinking my first idealshape shake as I write this. I’m am very pleased with the taste. I made it just like the Visalus shake I make so I could compare the taste accurately. I felt like I had a chocolate milk shake. I got the Vanilla as I plan to use the recipes I have for Visalus to make the many different flavors. I used 8 oz skim milk, 1 scoop mix, 1 banana, and 6 ice cubes. I also have a ninja and used that to blend it. So far this is 2 thumbs up. I ordered on Sunday and received on Wednesday. Thank you so much for the honest review!

I have now started making the shake with water. It is creamy and still just as good as with milk. Control’s my hunger well. For anyone following weight watchers the mix is only 2 points. I made with one cup of frozen stawberries and banana’s, very good. I had someone (who is very picky) try it and didn’t say anything and they said “it tastes like a milk shake” and it was made with water. With added ice it thickens it. I get 1/2 more shake than when making visalus. I lost one pound in 1 day. My husband had also tried drinks of Visalus and the idealshape. He likes the idealshape better. He would make funny faces with Visalus. Although everyone’s tastes are different, with the 30 day money back what is there to lose….

  174. Hi Mrs. R! I looked at the different CDs offered by Ideal Shape Meal Replacements, and I wondered which one were you so pleased with that you didn’t want to be without it? Did you try all of them or just one certain CD? I feel that positive messages in do so much to aid in motivation! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the CDs.
    Thank you!

  175. My husband expressed interest in trying out a meal replacement shake to drop some unwanted weight. He has a bit of a problem with portion control (grew up in a house where he had to finish everything on his plate- so maybe that’s where the issue started for him). I researched different shakes and found that IdealShape seemed like the best one to try. We ordered two chocolate tubs and one vanilla tub. Our shipment arrived yesterday (took a week to ship…not too bad) and we had our first shakes for breakfast this morning. My husband had chocolate with skim milk and ice- he thought it was pretty tasty just like that. I had the same as my husband, but I added two strawberries- that was pretty darn yummy (and I feel full). I’ll come back in a couple of weeks to comment on whether it’s helping him or not. This is a great site- thanks for all the info!

    0
    • So, it’s 3 weeks later, and we’re still drinking the shakes 1 meal a day. I really love them. We finished the first chocolate tub (using crushed ice, milk and frozen blueberries all mixed in our blender) and it was yummy. This is my first day to try the vanilla (also added crushed ice, milk and blueberries) and it was yummy, too. I have lost about 3 pounds, but the more important thing for me is that my body fat% dropped 2%- I’m very happy with that. I’ll have to report back on my husbands weight loss, because I’ve forgotten, but his body fat% has dropped as well…and he has had to take his belt in a notch. This has overall been great for the both of us…and we’ll keep going with it because we enjoy the flavor of the shakes and we don’t feel deprived. I especially like that the weight-loss is slow and steady (much better than dropping a ton of weight quickly, then gaining it all back plus some).

      0
      • Thanks for addressing the body fat % as that is a very important aspect that rarely gets addressed (although I’m not quite sure how to measure it).

  176. I work in my car and will not have a kitchen nearby to add a bunch of crazy additives into the shakes to make them taste better. Is Idealshape the best option for flavor with just water? Is this a difficult product to get the powder to mix with the liquid? I need to lose probably 10-15 pounds, will this be effective for that? I need something quick and easy that wont taste horrible if it gets warm since I never get much down time.

    0
  177. I received my tubs today (1 vanilla and 1 chocolate). I used the vanilla and mixed it with 8 ozs. of vanilla almond milk (never tried it before and was skeptical), 1/2 a banana, a few strawberries, and some ice. OMG! It was better than some of the smoothies I have bought at the mall! It has been 4 hours and I’m still not hungry. I think I can do this! BTW, the almond milk is really good–try it!

I’m going to buy the regular almond milk too. I’ll write back in a week to let you know how much I lose.

I have been having the shakes in the morning. Today Im having one for lunch as well. I drink my morning shake- mixed with, one scoop chocolate, chocolate almond milk, half banana, handful of spinach, and a few strawberries. I drink it at 9am and Im not hungry until 12 or 12:30. Today Im having just the shake with one scoop chocolate and chocolate almond milk and its really good! Its think and if you like chocolate then it tastes like a treat. My husband has been drinking them with one scoop and water. He said its tastes fine and he’s not even hungry either. So I think it works if you stick with it. And they taste good.

I am looking for something to help me lose weight. I have been an Advocare user for many years and love thier products. However they don’t seem to be working for me anymore. I loved it when they had a product with ephedra. This helped curve my appetite, and sugar cravings. But, they don’t have that any more. So, I am excited to try IdealShape. I found your sight when I googled Body by Vi (which I was considering). It seems like you have tried “everything on the market” and rate this the best. Thanks for all the work you do and thanks for this website. I will let you know how it goes. Also, do you have any suggestions for stomach fat? I REALLY need to lose in this area.

  180. I read the reviews on this, bought a month’s worth, and have been using the chocolate flavor for about a week. (Shipping was fast, which was nice.) I have to admit I was pretty disappointed in the taste. If this version is the best tasting meal replacement shake, I guess there isn’t a way to get rid of that weird after taste. That being said, it wasn’t awful, just not something I look forward to. I’m sure the smoothie-type mix-ins that everyone mentions help out with the taste a lot, but I needed something that would be do-able without a blender.

  181. I went online trying to find reviews on Beachbody shakes and found the mealreplacementshakereviews.com site. After reading the reviews I ordered IdealShape. I absolutely love it. I used to just make protein shakes to replace meals, which helped but I would end up starving later, which led me to make bad snack choices after work.

I’ve been using the shakes for breakfast and lunch for almost a month now. I’m only about 5 pounds from desired weight, so don’t have a huge weight loss to report, but I have dropped a few pounds and not gained which was my goal.

Both chocolate and vanilla taste great. They’re easy to make, especially with the blender bottle. I can make them quickly at my desk at work. I’m no longer starving throughout the day. In addition to the taste and how it satisfies me like a meal, the price is great. I was considering the Beachbody shakes, but they are so expensive. IdealShape is a great price.

I would recommend Idealshape to anyone looking to lose or maintain weight, or for a quick meal when things are too busy to eat a full meal. Thanks to the MRSR site!

  183. I am a 42 year old mom of 2 – not way over weight and not out of shape – I yoyo by about 10 – 15 lbs., despite working out 5 days per week and eating fairly clean. Finding that since I passed 40 it is IMPOSSIBLE to lose weight with the old methods that used to work.

Sooo, got my tubs of IDEAL SHAPE last Tues. along with the free trial of ResevraShape. I have been doing 2 shakes per day and keeping myself to 1200 calories using myfitnesspal to keep track. I will report back once I weigh in. I have been mixing the vanilla with coconut water and strawberries and a few ice cubes – absolutely delicious. The chocolate, I find more of a chalenge to mix. I work nights, so I actually mixed it with coffee and ice cubes one night – it make a nice mocha frappe. I am not wowed by any extra energy or lack of hunger – but I feel like its easy and nutritious, which is what a busy working mom needs. I find the Resvera Shape to give a good caffeine jolt and only take 1 per day. I also bought the cd of “brain training.” It might be hokey and yet I think it might actually work because I am able to eat just one cookie and walk away and I have been pounding the water. I will report back in a week or 2 to let you know my progress.

  184. Hello everyone. Thanks for the reviews, and thanks to Mrs. R and the MRSR staff for putting together such an informative site.

After reading through all of the different shakes, ratings and reviews I ordered the 3 pack of IdealShape today. I probably won’t get it for a week, but I will return to post my review.

Also, I’m embarrassed to say that I have more than 100 lbs. to lose, so it should be interesting to get the perspective and see the results of someone with a lot of weight to lose.

  185. UPDATE:

It has now been 2 weeks and I have lost 3.5 lbs. I have been drinking 2 shakes a day (most of the time) and eating sensibly on the last meal. However, I have eaten whatever I want a few meals per week (we ate Hibachi last night for a special occasion). I usually do the vanilla with a few strawberries, 1/2 a banana, 4 ozs. almond milk, 4 ozs. water and 1/2 a cup of icecubes. I also like the chocolate in the shaker bottle with 1/2 cup of almond milk and 1/2 cup of water (surprisingly good). I’ll update you in a few weeks with my 4 wk weight loss. Good luck everyone!

  186. Is this product safe to take while trying to get pregnant? I have PCOS and my doctor told me if I lost 15-20 pounds, we would have better odds.

    0
    • I wouldn’t see why not, but a quick check with your doctor is always advisable.

And yes, there are studies that show that fitness and healthy weight loss are really good for you before/during pregnancy. (Contrary to popular belief)

      0
      • Whoops! Just a clarification on this comment. We said healthy weight loss and fitness during pregnancy is good for you.

Healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week. Highly restrictive diets and too much exercise is not healthy to be doing while pregnant and can lead to complications.

We apologize for the lack of clarity on that.

So I just purchased a 3 month supply of IdealShape though I am not sure just how many shakes I should have in a day – 1 or 2. It seems kind of scattered. Brief history – I need to lose a good 20 to 25 pounds. For the last 6 months, I have done a cardio/toning class 2 to 3 days a week. Each class is about an hour and a half. Last month I started doing weight training with an instructor 1 to 2 days a week. I have lost no weight at all!!!! I am frustrated but I know that if I keep doing these things that are good for me, I will benefit either way. My core is stronger, my tone is better, but the midsection weight is going nowhere. Also – what is best – drink a shake with fruit/PB before a workout or after?

    0
    • Hi Heather,

From what we’ve read in studies, meal replacement shakes are most effective used once per day. More specifically by having a high protein, balanced breakfast that is about 40% of your daily calories, then using the shake for lunch. That is where most people find the best results.

      0
      • Heather says:

Thank you Mrs. R. I took your advise and had my first shake after my workout today – basically for lunch. I think I need more protein in my breakfast though because a bowl of cereal did not hold me over through my workout today! Back to eggs for breakfast!

Also, I have to say that my first shake was AMAZING. Simply used 8 ounces of Silk Vanilla Almond milk and a scoop of powder. It was like vanilla cake batter!!!! Delicious and by far the best shake I have ever tasted!

  188. My husband has been on Ideal for 4 months and has lost over 40lbs. The hunger blockers are working, because he drinks a shake around 5:30am, has lunch around noon, and basically snacks on 100 calorie popcorn, or a low sugar popsicle when he gets home. I worry that he’s not eating, but he says he just doesn’t have the urge. He needs to lose about another 40.

I foolishly bought Body by Vi because some friends had huge results very quickly. But, after the first month, it stopped. I on the other hand, became so constipated that one day I :

    chewed flax seed
    drank prune juice
    drank a gallon of water
    took stool softeners
    drank Milk of Magnesia

Ultimately, I tore my insides, once I found relief. This is from a normally very easily regular person. I don’t know what in Body by Vi would have done this, but my upline people started experiencing similar issues. So… I’ll start in on the hub’s jar of ideal and and see what happens!

  189. It was mentioned that the IdealShape does not have the 8 essential amino acids. What is the best way to get those, is there a better type of meat that will provide those?

    Thanks!

I am also taking Herbalife’s Herbal Tea Concentrate instead of IdealShapes’ ResveraShape. I have not tried the Resvera but I know the Herbalife stuff works for sure. I was going to go with the Herbalife Meal replacement because it did work for me (did not feel hungry at all for many hours) while I was taking a sample, but I guess IdealShapes’ is better? Guess I will have to try to find out….

    • why was my comment deleted? I really did buy this product and the hunger blocker does not work at all. Just wanted to get my opinion out. I’m not trying to be negative or anything, just truthfully saying this product does not work as a hunger blocker. I will not be buying this again. It does taste good though, I mix it with a little bit a honey.

      0
      • Don’t know why, it got deleted. Might’ve been caught by a spam filter. We know the hunger blocker of the shakes aren’t going to work for everybody. Just like the taste isn’t going to be the same for everyone.

All I can say is WOW! I recently purchased the vanilla and chocolate meal replacement shakes. I’m normally a die hard chocolate person, but I just made a vanilla shake with 8 oz low fat milk and some frozen bananas and strawberries and it is incredible. I feel like I’m drinking something I shouldn’t. It tastes as good as a milkshake with ice cream. Now I wish I hadn’t gotten the chocolate. It is okay, but nothing compared to the vanilla. Yum! I could definitely see myself drinking this every day for breakfast. I just started a few days ago, so I’ll have to wait and see if it helps me lose weight. I am so glad I found this site and decided to try it. Thank you!!!!

Thank you for all of the reviews. I have been tossing it around between Shakeology, Visalis or just something that is a lot more affordable and does the same thing.

I currently do the Insanity workout program 6 days per week and have noticed a loss of inches but not a lot of weight loss on the scale. I hope this meal replacement shake is the missing key, as I know that I don’t eat enough. With that said, I know you have to consume enough nutrients in order to effectively lose weight. I will post an update in a couple weeks, hopefully with desired results. :)

    2) I try to apply the MRSR coupon and it tells me that I have used it already, even though it’s my first order 3) I tried calling the 1-800 number in the website and it doesnt work.

  197. My wife and I were “distributors” for both Herbalife and Advocare before trying IdealShape. The Herbalife products certainly worked and tasted great, but you had to buy so many different products to get the results, that we were spending several hundred dollars a month; and that was after getting our “discount” for selling the product to all of our friends and relatives that were willing. We later tried Advocare, but were disappointed by the taste and lack of satisfaction from the shakes; and again, in order to get a reasonable price, we had to sell a bunch of their product.

We were both sold on the idea of meal replacement shakes because of the dramatic health and weight benefits we experienced, but we were getting tired of always being the people with something to sell. So, I started researching meal replacement shakes and found this site, which led me to look further into IdealShape because of the high rating and the user comments, both of which were SPOT-ON! We LOVE this stuff and couldn’t be happier with either the products, results or the service from the company.

We are now into our third month using two skakes a day and couldn’t be more satisfied! We’ve both lost noticable pounds and (mostly) inches (I’m down 15 pounds in 3 months!) and really like the shakes for their taste and satisfying texture. And, we DON’T HAVE TO SELL ANYTHING TO GET A GREAT PRICE! At around a buck and a half a meal (including their Resverashape supplement); I mean, seriously, I don’t think I could eat left-overs for that price!

I drink my first shake around 6 am and I’m good until around 11:30 when I get my lunch break. I have a second shake for lunch and that holds me till our typical dinner time of around 5:00. The chocolate is quite good but we use mostly vanilla because of the versatility of mixing other ingredients.

If you’re considering using meal replacement shakes, DO NOT commit to anyone’s program or products until you have at least tried IdealShape!

Many thanks to the MSR Team! You’ve won another satisfied reader :-)

  198. The IdealShake label says to keep product between approx. 50-90 degrees. When you ship it to places where I live that are well over 100 degrees, is the product shipped in cool packing? The planes/trains/trucks can get up to 170 degrees! How do you control it?

    0
    • Huh, never thought about that. We’re not a distributor so we don’t do any shipping for any of the companies we review. You’d have to call their customer service for that question.

I was looking for the “other” brand, when I came across this site. Interesting to read all the reviews. What I need to know is this; I am hypothyroid and find that I can’t use many of the diet products out there. Do you know if there is anything in Ideal that could mess with taking synthetic thyroid medicine?

    • Sorry Gammy, I wouldn’t want to make that call. That’s why we have the nutrition label on the review. A quick check with your doctor is the best bet.

I am drinking my water, I really think the CD is helping me with that….also the Deep Sleep CD has put me out all night for the last 2 nights….so right now THUMBS up. Will post again in a coulple of days. I really like this product. I need to lose so much so hoping my motivation will stay dead on.

Ok day 6, I’ve lost 5 pounds. Probably that old water weight that comes off first. Still doing 2 shakes a day. I am really liking the chocolate better. I can add fruit to the vanilla and it is fine. I guess I am just a chocolate lover anyway. I am still doing the Brain CD’s too. I guess working cause I haven’t had the urge to drink anything but water….cool huh. Started gym today. 35 minutes. 4 machines. More than I’ve ever done. Hard at 245. At least 5 down from 250. Will post in a few more days. Still doing the Reversashape that came with the package I bought. Later.

I had been looking for an alternative to shakeology, as it is way to expensive for people on limited income like me and the ‘coaches’ feel like MLM, amway or primeamerica scam artists: constant pushing, cajoling, buddying almost bullying one to purchase the way overpriced shakes and ‘buy a coaching’ membership to bully others to buy the shakes and coaching memberships. They just dont take no for an answer. The idealshape does seem ideal, after my Dr. asked me to start drinking a nutritional shake in the mornings, this really fits my budget and I can continue doing my favorite exercises. Losing weight would be great, after gaining some when I got “Runners Knees” last year. I ordered it yesterday and will update after some time using it.

I’ve been using IdealShape the past week, drinking 2 shakes a day plus a sensible meal in the evening and I’ve been walking an hour a day. I’ve noticed I haven’t lost any weight and as a matter of fact, I’ve gained weight and the shakes do not block my hunger as advertised. I’m more ravenous after drinking the shakes and must drink quarts of water to stave off hunger. I mix with water for the morning and noon meals, have a small snack in the afternoons and a small low-carb (but balanced) meal at night.

      0
      • Lots of water is good, I don’t suppose you restricted your other daily calories and know the numbers?

While some feel that meal replacement shakes don’t block hunger as much as they would like, the idea that you feel you became more hungry seems a bit strange.

        0
        • Brick ONeil says:

I keep each meal between 300 and 400 calories or under 40 carbs, being diabetic. Since i’m taking a shake for breakfast and lunch during these first few weeks, trying to lose weight. The evening meal is 300-400 calories or below and at the maximum, 40 carbs. I drink between 30-70 oz water a day sometimes more. I also have IBS, which limits what I can eat.

          0
          • Alright, I’d say you likely want to increase your calories a bit if you are feeling really hungry. Men can often lose weight when their calories are at 1200-1600 each day.

Obviously you’ll still want to limit your carbs, but with 2 shakes and 1 meal that means you’re going on about 700 calories a day. That’s really low.

You’ll probably see results, but it’s no wonder you feel starving, you kind of are starving.

  203. I started the Idealshape shakes 6 days ago, 2 daily (most days). The taste is ok, but not great. However I’m not a good judge of taste because I’m not a fan of any kind of powdered drink. I add a small spoon of pudding mix and it then tastes delicious.

I do have a question. Since starting the shakes I have had a constant low grade headache. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m trying to decide if it is the shakes or something else, like weather or allergies. I’ve lost 1 1/2 pounds the first 5 days, so I do not want to stop them if I can help it.

Overall I think this is a great product!

    Lisa

    0
    • There could be a variety of reasons for the headaches.

Most of the time, this problem is fixed with water. Make sure you’re drinking a glass of water immediately after the shake.

Was thinking about ordering Body by Vi but after finding this site I ordered Ideal Shape so started to dsy I got 2 chocolate and 2 vanilla gonna try 2 shakes a day I used the chocolate this morning and the taste was not bad I used the blender cup and almond milk and couple pieces of ice so wish me luck and I will come back with an update soon. :)

  205. Hello! I had my first IdealShape shake about 6 weeks ago and I feel great! I’m down about 5 lbs doing just one shake per day and not adding to my activity level. I have a good bit of weight to lose, ideally, about 60 lbs. I work full-time plus I’m taking graduate school classes so I’m unbelievably busy. I LOVE how convenient it is! During the week, I use cold water to add to my shake and the taste isn’t bad! I like the chocolate. Advice when using water:
    1. Add water to shaker before powder. Otherwise, the powder gets glued to the bottom.
    2. Shake, shake, shake. Let sit for a few minutes. Shake, shake, shake again. This allows the powder to dissolve better and the drink gets thicker and not at all grainy.

On Saturdays, I volunteer at a wildlife rehab and there is no time to eat during my 8-hr shift so I use milk instead of water and drink the shake for breakfast. I’m never hungry before I get home and the milk makes it a little thicker and more satisfying.

I haven’t tried any of the recipes yet but I look forward to it. I just haven’t gotten bored with my naughty little chocolate-lunch break yet. I’m sure I will.

My husband and my mom (diabetic) are also trying it. Mom just started so I can’t say much for her other than her sugar levels actually came down a little bit in her first week. My husband has also lost a few lbs though I’m not monitoring him as closely so I can’t say how much for sure. He’s currently getting his undergrad degree so he’s in school full time and loves the convenience too.

During my first week, I was starving by the time I got home from work and school so I ate everything in sight. It didn’t seem to affect my weightloss though (it was probably still fewer calories than normal). After the first week, my body seemed to get used to the routine and I’m not as hungry when I get home. During my long days, I just make sure to grab some veggies for an afternoon snack.

All in all, an A+ for convenience, A for taste, B for price (I buy mine on eBay and it’s actually cheaper than buying from IdealShape), A for slow, steady, weightloss.

    Thanks!

does this product help give you energy too?? im soo drained after a workout i was wondering if this would work for energy??

    0
    • The product doesn’t have stimulants, but often when you find you are getting balanced nutrition that your energy levels increase. So…maybe?

IF you feel completely drained after a workout it might be your body telling you it needs proteins, carbs, and fats for energy. Are you eating a high protein meal before your workouts already? If not, then a meal replacement shake before/after your workout could have a huge effect on your energy levels. (It would be the same as having a high-protein meal, but at fewer calories)

  207. I just got my first shipment of IdealShake today – I got the Milk Chocolate. While it does taste good (MUCH better than Shakeology – which is just gross) – it uses Sucralose. I wish I had paid attention to the label before I got it because I don’t do artificial sweeteners!

I’ll finish it, but I’m not sure I’ll reorder.

Thank you for your review! I was looking to purchase IsAgenix or Shakeology when I happened upon your reviews by accident. I am so glad I did, by reading your review I found that I was looking at the two most expensive meal replacements. I decided to go with your number one recommendation Idealshape and will keep you posted once I receive the product. I also decide to go with your recommendation of 3 months at the lower cost. Which is still lower in price than 11 days of IsAgenix.

  211. I wanted to thank you for giving IdealShape such a wonderful review. I have personally worked on the formula since 2003. The focus for the past year has been to provide better protein blends, less sugar, kosher approval/certification. Currently, I have been focused on seeing if our formula can be gluten free and still have an amazing taste.

I have read all the reviews and appreciate positive/negative comments. We use this kind of information to help create what we feel to be one of the best products on the market.

Thanks MRS R for your review and I hope that we can continue to improve the formula, cost effectiveness, and the health promoting qualities of our meal replacement shakes.

I would love to hear from you at http://www.davidmeine.com

  212. Based on the reviews here I bought a tub of the chocolate flavored IdealShape and gave it a shot. With moderate exercise, 2x shakes a day and a reasonable eating pattern I was down about 6 pounds by the end of the container. I definitely think it works well, and it seems more nutritious than the local store knockoff Slim Fast shakes I’d been on before.

That said, I can’t stand the taste or the smell. I don’t have the ability to make a smoothie out of it, so most of the time it was straight water+powder (ice cold) or milk+powder. It was a challenge finishing it off – I had to chase it with something strong tasting.

With hope I ordered the vanilla and have been using it for 3 days. The smell in powder form is good, but mixed with water there’s some lingering scent that’s much much worse than the chocolate ever was. The taste is ok, but there’s an aftertaste similar to the awful smell. Drowning it in flavoring (Mio works nicely) helps, but the aftertaste is haunting. I’ll give it another week or two and perhaps try almond milk or something else, but I suspect I’ll be giving it up after this container.

Perhaps I just have weird taste buds – I have no idea how people enjoy these flavors! :D

I have been on the Vi shakes for 3 1/2 weeks. The past 2 weeks I have suffered severe crying spells, very depressed and just not myself. I take medications for several conditions. Yesterday, after an emergency visit to my doctor, I found out that the ingredients in the Vi shake were counter acting with my medications. I feel better today since I’ve not had a shake. Have had 1 medication adjusted for 1 week. Please advise your readers to check with their doctors if they take medications before starting Vi shake.

Do you think idealshape for breakfast and lunch would get me on my way?

  214. I have to admit I was skeptical about these shakes, I read the reviews and seen how great everyone was saying they were so I decided to try them. I had LapBand surgery done in Nov. of 2010 and then again in Nov. 2011 when I had to have it re-done because I had a leak in my band. Now that the band is actually working like it’s suppose to I cannot eat very much at all and I feel like I am not getting the proper nutrients my body needs. So one of the main factors for ordering these shakes was for the nutrients that it provides. I received my shakes yesterday and so far I am very happy!!!!! They taste wonderful, so much better than the many other Protein shakes I have tried in the past. I am very excited about these shakes and I hope it gives my body the nutrients that it needs for me to stay healthy and if they help me to lose more weight than that will be another added bonus! So happy that I found this website because I had never heard of IdealShake, so far I am very pleased :)

  216. I happened upon this site when I began researching another product on here after several friends started making some serious money. After reading the reviews, I opted to try IdealShape instead.

I am not new to meal replacement shakes, using them pretty regularly. I was impressed with the taste, the sense of fullness, and the mixablity factor of IdealShape. Living a busy lifestyle, a shake has to be convenient for me, meaning I don’t have to drag my blender out and can mix it easily in a blender bottle. IdealShape passed that test with flying colors.

After running out, I did decide to try the other product for comparison. I am at the end of week one with the other shake and IdealShape is far superior on every level. I find myself hungry within an hour after drinking the shake, it doesn’t mix easily in a blender bottle, and the taste is lacking – even with the addition of the flavor packets. No wonder they have so many recipes for the other shake. It doesn’t stand on it’s own very well.

I was honestly hoping the other brand would be better, since I’m not opposed to making a little money on the side. I will be ordering IdealShape from here on out, and even though I know Mrs. R isn’t big on multi-level marketing, if this company offered it, I’d be in!

  218. Purchased these shakes based uppon your reviews and I have to say I am impressed.
The taste is great, i like to make mine with Chocolate Coconut milk makes a thick rich chocolate shake. Yeah it bumps my calorie count to about 200 but I do alot of physical activity so I am not worried about that. My wife uses half coconut milk and half water for a thinner lower cal shake and she loves them as well.

  220. I am looking to lose a few pounds, but I don’t exercise regularly either. I’m purchasing a treadmill so i can walk daily and get better into shape. My main concern is if I didn’t workout aggresivly, or at all, would I end up gaining weight like most protein shakes? Or would this just be a suplement that makes me eat less calories (i usually find it hard to not snack between 8am-12pm because I get hungry but don’t want to eat.

    0
    • Mainly these help you consume less calories by replacing a meal that would normally be a lot higher. You can drink one during the time you struggle most with snacking to help with that, but you will definitely also want to exercise for the best results.

  222. I have just ordered both the chocolate and Vanilla. I am a student and eating fast food every morning so that I can make it to class on time will NOT be the norm this semester. Normally I want to stick with just one shake a date but two might be necessary from time to time as I also work.
My question is, if I have to supplement two meals in 1 day with Ideal Shape meal replacement, then what should I have for my third meal? Are there any specific components that I should be sure to consume to make up for what I’ve missed?

    0
    • I still haven’t gotten a response from the team but I’m having my first shake and it is tastey (chocolate mixed with water). I used to work at a gym and encountered numerous different protein shakes and meal replacements and this one is definitely in the top two as far as flavor.

      Updates to come :-)

      • Okay this stuff is amazing!! I had one before my workout and drank an extra glass of water like they suggest and my work out was the most energetic I’ve had in weeks and I’m STILL feeling great hours later. No jitters and I’m not light headed. I just feel like I had a well rounded breakfast before getting started not that crazy energy drink feeling ( I don’t think this has any of those type of ingredients in it anyway) 5 stars! I feel so great I don’t even care if I lose that last 5 pounds right now.

        5
      • Still going well. The flavor of the shakes aren’t bad but get old quick with just water so plan to mix with almond or soy milk or fruit smoothies or SOMETHING from time to time. I like the chocolate better than the vanilla (the vanilla has an aftertaste that reminds me of baby cereal honestly… not the worst but not the best). Anyway I lost three pounds already. Update ya later. :-D

  223. I recently started a new regimen at the beginning of the year. So naturally, I turned to the internet in search of a health shake that was deemed safe w/ no side effects. It brought me to this site and based off reviews, I actually ordered a couple tubs of Ideal Shake. Mind you this was my first attempt at even trying anything close to supplements and such. But I must admit it didnt have a nasty taste at all. I was surprised and within the first couple of weeks, I lost 12 lbs… Long story short, after about a couple month of taking this product I started to get heart palpitations. But like a champ i continued for a couple more weeks before it =( totally freaked me out and popped my bubble! I stopped and the palpitations subsided. I dont know what it was, maybe my body was sensitive to the product?? Ill never know… Just thought Id share my review. Good luck to all! =)

  224. So I stumbled on your site awhile back was really impressed with your review on this shake and tried it out. Its been great. My husband and I both have one everyday. It feels good to not have to worry so much knowing we are getting a great dose of nutrition in a tasty little shake. Well recently they revamped their shakes and I don’t think they taste as good. Has anyone else noticed this? Still good… but not as good. Is it me?

  225. I just ordered the whole system for $170. I was going to do the 2 bottles of shake powder and nothing else but because I kept reading the good reviews on the site I decided to get serious and do the whole program. I will try very hard to post my progress (hopefully its progress) once a week. I NEED to lose fifty pounds, I WANT to lose seventy five. If this can even give me a good jump start it will be worth every penny. It is hard to get motivated when the amount you need to lose seems so insurmountable.

  226. After reading all the reviews I am DESPERATE to try the product.
So I’m sitting there, looking through the IdealShape website all excited about to have the order processed and then I find out it cant be shipped outside the US.
I’m from Canada and let me tell you that took a sh!t on my happiness. I called customer services hoping they would give me an alternative or find out about the stores that carry the products and nope.. the only alternative is driving 4.5hours across the boarder to the nearest ship-it shop which is guna cost me double the amount that I am trying to save by not buying Shakeology.

    Anybody help?

  227. Milt Mobley says:

Has it occurred to anyone that this entire “shake review” website is just a scam to promote this, their alleged number 1 rated product? While they very cleverly have some nice things to say about the other products…why would anyone truly order the number 2 rated product? Or the number 5 rated product? This smells rotten to me. And I will be curious to see if my comments are even posted. Clever marketing, I must admit, but I don’t sense that this website offers unbiased research and opinions.

    0
    • It has been brought up by a few commenters, though if you actually read the other posts and our comments on the other reviews most people see that we have given other shakes higher ranking in nutrition and taste.

In the end, we know everyone isn’t going to believe that we started this site with the best intentions. All we can really do is try to keep our bias out of the conversation, which is what we’ve been trying to do.

      0
      • By the way Mrs. R the IdealShape says the product I ordered is somehow improved from what they were selling before. is this review from before or after the formula change? Have you considered giving them a second look to account for the change?

        0
    • I’ve tried several of the products on the site not wanting to shell out the cash for their number one ranked product… eventually I did anyway because nothing I tried was cutting it. After only a couple of weeks of using this I can say I’ve lost 3 of the 15 pounds I’d like to lose and the quality of the product is evident in the way that I feel hours after having a shake. I was skeptical but honestly I’ve learned from experience that the reviews are spot on. I’m sure you’ll think I’m some sort of advertiser or scammer as well (and why not? skepticism is healthy) all I can say is try it. You’ll see.

  229. I am pretty new to the meal replacement shake world. I used Slim Fast over the summer before my wedding to lose weight fast. I knew it was not the best way to do it, but I had to get the pounds off before getting into that dress. I was on an extremely restrictive diet that included Slim Fast for breakfast and lunch and a Smart One frozen meal for dinner. I did that for about 20 days and lost almost 15 pounds.

Needless to say, I gained it back and then some over the course of the honeymoon and returning home. I knew it would happen and I know that now, I have to get back on the slow and steady climb. I’ve stuck with Slim Fast just as a meal replacement for breakfast. I was confident that I was getting all I need, but I am running out and decided to look into some other shakes to compare.

All I can say is, wow. I can’t believe how many fewer nutrients Slim Fast has in comparison to some of these other shakes. I am leaning toward this one but am going to do a little more research. I mostly drink one shake for breakfast now, just to get me out the door, then have a healthy lunch, snack, and dinner. I have lost about 5 of my post wedding pounds. I an 5’3 and weigh about 188. I estimate that I have about 50 pounds to lose and I’m going to try to do that over the next year.

Whichever shake I go with, I will read the reviews here and come back to comment on my progress. I appreciate that Mrs. R answers many commenters and this site doesn’t strike me as not genuine. You don’t get attentive responses and the level of writing and attention to detail on most shill sites. And if this site is all a “scam” to sell this number one rated shake? I’m inclined to trust a company who puts so much care into their marketing scheme!

I have been drinking idealshape for the past three days now. I can honestly say I like them. The vanilla powder smells great and reminds me of insure. I mix mine with half water and half almond milk. So far they are filling. My lunch time came and went and I didn’t even notice. I had to force myself to eat something. On day two I blended it with half a banana. It tasted good but it made the shake more than 8oz so I had trouble finishing the whole thing. I like that it’s convenient to make. I make them in less than 5mins and I drink them in the car on the way to work. Ill check back later to see if I lose any weight.

  231. I loved the taste of these shakes, but I have a rather embarrassing problem: For me, they caused horrendous bloating and gas, and much misery. I don’t see other people complaining of this, so it must not be common. Any insight on what in this shake might be so disagreeable for me?

    0
    • Are you drinking a glass of water immediately after the shake? That’s one of the most common quick fixes to the problem.

Also it might mean that you having a slight reaction to the whey protein. If you are mixing it with milk, try almond/soy milk or water to see if it might be the lactose.

      0
      • Thanks. I drank vanilla whey protein in water the other day. It tasted bad, but I didn’t get this problem. I’ll give IdealShape a shot again and try drinking a big glass of water after. Thanks! I don’t think I have a lactose issue, but I might try the almond milk just to see. I love the option of meal replacement shakes because I’m lazy about finding something to eat for lunch, so I really want it to work.
Also, I had tried Shakeology before but it was too pricey. I was going to try the Beachbody Meal Replacement formula which is more like $40 a month. Any plans to review that one sometime?

        0
  232. I did Idealshape for about a month but then my step son talked me into trying Visalus which I did for 90 days. Both taste good but Idealshape has more staying power and more filling. Idealshape has an appetite suppresant in it where with visalus does not. I have recently returned to Idealshape. I haven’t tried the vanilla flavor as I am a chocoholic! I am averaging about 5 pounds a month weight loss which isn’t all that great but I am losing quite a few inches which I love!

    0
  233. I picked up the vanilla and just placed an order for more of the vanilla and some chocolate. A tip I have is that the vanilla is more versatile for making other flavors. In addition, if you want chocolate, just add cocoa powder (about a tablespoon, maybe less). I mix in PB2, cocoa, bananas (sometimes all 3 of those in one!) blueberries, plain yogurt, honey, strawberries, almond milk, water, ice. It’s nice that with vanilla I can make it other flavors to my taste that particular morning.

Love having this every morning instead of trying to figure out what I’m going to eat and either settling for a pop-tart, cereal, or McD’s.

  234. Ive been drinking Shakeology for 2 months and absolutely love it but i just cant afford it any more:( ive been researching different shakes and was going to go to GNC tomorrow to find one but i guess i will go ahead and trythis one. hope im not disapointed. Shakeology is so good but spendy,i tried advacare yesterday and omg gross I really hope this can live up to the Shakeology. Has any gone from Shakeology to this? or another?

    • Arika, I quit ordering Shakeology since they changed their formula about two months ago. I can’t drink it because they added coconut and I’m alergic and then my daughter had a burning sensation in her throat for about four hours after drinking the new shakeology. They changed all of the formula flavors to some new formula and refuse to go back. I am getting ready to order the idealshape right now.

  235. I’m not trying to lose weight but i need a good post workout drink. Would you recommend Ideal Shape for that purpose? Thanks

    0
    • Personally I take these shakes pre and post workout, but for someone that isn’t trying to lose weight(I would guess you’re trying to bulk up), you might want to look for something in the protein shake category rather than meal replacement.

  236. I take medication for hypothyroidism (Armour thyroid). Is the IdealShape meal replacement shake compatible with this medication due to the amount of soy in it? If read that soy products should be avoided for those who are hypothyroid. Thanks!

  237. Since July, I have been incorporating Idealshape with my Weight Watchers Points Plus plan once a day. Idealshape is 2 points so I have a shake for lunch along with a 2 or 3 point snack. It’s working pretty well. I’ve lost 22 lbs with no hunger or cravings. Since my points at lunch are so low, I can have most of my W.W. points for my evening meal.

  242. Thanks so much for all the reviews! After reading lots of discussions I decided on IdealShape and got the chocolate and vanilla flavors. At first I was really disappointed because I kept getting stomachaches after I would drink them! I tried modifying the ingredients and portions but nothing seemed to help. Then my trainer mentioned the frothiness that comes from mixing in a blender can upset some people’s stomachs and recommended I try one of those blender bottles to eliminate some of the frothiness and it definitely helped! I was a little disappointed at first because I thought the stomachaches wouldn’t subside but now that I know how to mix them and I’m very happy with my purchase. Thanks again for all the help!

  243. To loose weight i was told to use shakeology , I have been using shakeology for 3 months now and how crazy was I to keep using it after breaking out so much all over my body. I just stopped last week. Yes it took me this long before I realized this was ridiculous and I needed to stop.. I am glad I stumbled along this site. I really want to try something that will actually help me because with shakeology, although it has all the nutrients we need,I weighed 150 and I started working out daily and still today I am at the same weight.. I am ready for something new.

I ordered Idealshape in August and I have lost 40 pounds!! I love the shakes! I mix mine with almond milk, which only adds 30 cal. I replace both breakfast and lunch with it, so my 2 snacks and dinner I can kind of eat what I want (which is usually a ton of protein) because the calories are so low in the shakes! Of course, the better I eat on the snacks and dinner, the more weight I lose, but it is nice to know that if I want to indulge a little, I can because of the shakes!

I am bored to death of the vanilla because I don’t love adding a bunch of calories to it by adding fruit. I usually try to get my fruit in with the snacks. But, I love the chocolate and I have started adding PB2 to it every now and then for a treat! I drink a ton of water before and after, so I haven’t seen any issues that other reviewers have with blending it.

I do not feel that hungry, and if I do, I just have my snack earlier…..I NEVER let myself feel hungry and I am still keeping my calories at 1200 a day. So, I agree the hunger suppressants work wonderfull!

They mailed the energy pills with the shakes, but I don’t recommend them…..they aren’t bad or anything, I just found something more effective at GNC…..

This is a wonderful meal replacement and a great price!! Thank you for the honest reviews and great, free website!!

I ordered this shake about six months ago and was surprised by how easy it was to incorporate into my busy lifestyle. I am down over 60 pounds. I exercise and try to eat right but I am a busy mom and sometimes I just don’t have time to make a meal. The shake stops me from feeling hungry. Thanks for your review it helped me make the right decision for me.

  246. How do you prepare this shake and many different ways are there to prepare this shake? Im kinda hesitant on trying new things so im looking for a more neutral or basic flavor, any suggestions?

    0
    • There are tons of different ways to prepare the shake. We found if was pretty good just mixed with water. There are all kinds of recipes on the web for shakes. It may take some trial and error to get the flavor you want. The Vanilla works as a good neutral flavor for working with mixins.

  247. I was about to start The Body By Vi but like many other people saw this site and will give this a try. I have one question though in order for me to lose weight I am supposed to stay at around 2200 calories per day which is recommended by MyFitness Pal app. It really seemed like way too many calories at first but I have been dropping however the weight loss has stopped after about six weeks so I’m hoping this shake will help. My question is will I still need to eat upto 2200 calories if I plan on replacing 2 meals per day ?
Thanks for this site it has been a great help.

    • Get a healthy balance of proteins and minerals and you can lower your calories a little more. Try to exercise at very least 30 minutes, 3 times a week and you should get through the plateau.

Also when you lose weight you can replug in your new stats and myfitnesspal might give you a new recommendation for daily calories.

  249. On the Idealshape website, they offer two different weight loss supplements (Natralshape and Resverashape). What is the difference between the two? Should I use both or choose one? I’ve looked at their website; they have similar ingredients. How do I chose?

I am happy to have stumbled across this page. Always a fan of people trying to better themselves. My father was a diabetic so I know how important a well balanced regiment is. Our bodies are like machines needing to always be checked and tuned up. Biggest advice I would give to one person is to learn ones body. We all are similar yet very different if that makes sense. Besides your doctors advice learn to recognize signs from your own body after each meal…food or drink you let enter into your system. You can learn a lot about your own body from taking a step back and learning to listen to your body.

  251. Last January, in my usual post-holiday quest to lose about 10 lbs., I bought several bottles of Ideal Shape after seeing it endorsed on this website. I am a highly skeptical (and cheap) nurse practitioner and I do a lot of critical research before buying such products (as I have been burned myself, can you say Hoodia extract and Acai berry?) I just used the product to replace lunches 3-4 times a week, stepped up the exercise, and paid more attention to healthier eating (nothing crazy, I assure you!) I lost the weight over several months. I added blenderized fruit, almonds, chia seeds, etc. and actually enjoyed the taste of the shakes! I have a raging appetite and my hunger was kept at bay for several hours (but not as much as a full meal, of course. I’d have to have a snack later in the afternoon, usually some almonds and fruit.) As a hater of dieting with little will power, I found this a pretty painless way to lose weight. I am buying two more bottles today. I guess this will become my New Year tradition!

  252. Thanks for the great review. I’m going to order a 60-day program. Not sure if anybody from MRSR is still reading and replying to these comments – if so, I have a question. Can you tell me, which of the audio CDs did you refer to in your review? There seem to be several available on Ideal Shape’s web site. Thank you!

  253. I came on here looking for more information about Shakeology, but the reviews from Mrs. R and everyone else’s input convined me to try Ideal Shape instead! I haven’t received it yet (I got the email saying it’s been shipped, but when I went to track it it said the mailing label was created, but it wasn’t sent to UPS yet). The only downside so far was the $13 shipping for the 60 day supply… seems a little steep, especially because it will take 6 days (according to UPS).

Quick question that I’m hoping someone can answer. A lot of people above say they mixed the shakes with almond milk. Is that better for you than soy milk? I drink light soy milk and it’s about 60 calories a cup and 0.5 grams of fat. I looked at the nutrition information for almond milk and it seems to have more fat. Are there benefits to almond milk that soy milk doesn’t have? I’m going to try the shakes with water first, but if that doesn’t pan out, I want to know what’s the healthiest option to mix with it. Thanks for your help!

  254. Thanks Mrs. R! I really appreciate your timely feedback and all the great information you provide!

  255. How can you give a shake that has Canola Oil, Table Salt, Splenda, and GMO Soy such a HIGH nutrition rating? Are you guys idiots?

    • I don’t know, how can you swallow the MLM marketing lines so easily?

Everything in moderation and all that.

      • HIGH FIVE Mrs. R!!!

I’m going to be ordering these (IdealShape) as soon as my next check comes! Thanks for the great resource! I’ve been drinking the Kirkland Shakes for a long time now, but was looking for something better. I think I’ve found it. Plus, bonus for me, I don’t have to pay shipping. When I put my address in, it gave me the option to pick up at the location, cause apparently I live super close to their offices.

  256. Like many people before me, I started looking for reviews on Body by Vi and wound up here. I purchased just one jar of the IdealShape meal replacement (chocolate) and just had it show up at my door. It does have a bit of an aftertaste, but it really isn’t too bad. Maybe some bananas or strawberries would mask that off taste. Not sure how it controls hunger yet but I’m excited to see if it works.

  257. Just wanted to give an update on my shake experience since I ordered the chocolate and vanilla a few weeks ago. The biggest downfall in my opinion is that I don’t find it to be filling. I’m definitely hungry by lunchtime (not starving, but hungry)… but I guess I can’t expect to feel full all morning for 120 calories. As far as taste goes, the chocolate is very good! With soy milk it’s even better, but I stick with water to avoid the calories. Unfortunately, I can’t always wrap my brain around having a chocolate shake for breakfast, so I have been trying to drink the vanilla. The vanilla kind of tastes like cake batter to me (and not in a good way). I have been adding a little bit of fruit (half banana and a few strawberries or blueberries) plus some spinach to add flavor and make it more filling. The shipping is also expensive considering it took a week and a half to get here. But overall, I’m happy with Ideal Shake. Their worth it for the price. I’m still curious to try Shakeology to see if it’s more filling and gives you the energy it claims, but I don’t think I’m ready to fork over the money for that yet.

P.S. Mrs. R., I love your comment to Nate R’s response above! Too funny!

    • AIMEE, You’ve been drinking the shakes for a few weeks. How much weight have you lost?

      0
      • I tried Slimfast. In a blender with ice, the chocolate tasted good. But. I developed IBS type of problems on Slimfast. Has anyone here had any problems with the fiber in IdeaShape?

      • I figured I’d give an update since my last post in January. I’m guessing there are a lot of people who are like me and would love to lose weight (I’d like to lose about 30lbs) and are looking for an easy way to do it. I was hoping this was it. Unfortunately, I didn’t stick with the shakes at all. I started adding so much fruit to make them taste good that it was no longer low-calorie. Even the chocolate ones didn’t taste good after a few days. It just didn’t fill me up either. Instead, I now buy frozen fruit and mix it with a lot of spinch and water. During the summer I replace the water with watermelon and it’s even more delicious. I’d rather have fruity-spinach taste than the chalky taste of IdealShake. These shakes sound like a lot of work, but it was just as much work when I had to blend fruit with the vanilla flavored IdealShakes. I’m glad I tried them, but it wasn’t for me. You’d need to be much more desciplined than me for this to work. I’m jealous of everyone who lost weight using them!

  259. I am looking forward to trying this. I have been drinking Shakeology, which helps with the weight lost and blocks my hunger but lets face it; spending well over $100 a month is not ideal. Seeing as this got even BETTER reviews, I am excited.

  260. Hi, I am starting my quest to dump off about 60 pounds. Ordered two containers of chocolate, plus “Sabotage” and “Deep Sleep” CDs, and two bottles of the Natralshape today. I plan to use a shake for breakfast and one for lunch. As suggested, I plan to eat “5 meals” a day … which just means having a couple of snacks. I am going to go with stuff like rice cakes, hard boiled eggs, nuts, cottage cheese, fruit … all of which I love. I will those snacks in the afternoon and evening. Mornings fly by without me getting the hungries, so I am okay then. In addition, I will be using my Natralshape AFTER dinner in the evening. That is my worst munchie time. I plan to mix my shakes with skim milk for the added nutrition, and continue with appropriate (not over the top) vitamin supplements.

Anyone here on a similar regimen?

I know that once I get rolling, I will do well … as that has been my past experience. Problem before was no change in attitude, and too much comfort eating. So I gained weight back. I am looking for OVERALL change with this program, and am feeling hopeful.

Since it’s only 2/22, I don’t plan to get my summer clothes for work for a few months … since I think I will need smaller sizes!

    0
  261. PS – Forgot to mention that my husband (who is home all day) is taking a different approach … which is why I will continue to get 2 cans of shake mix along with 2 bottles of the Natralshape each month. He wants to simply cut back on quantity of intake … which he needs to do. So the Natralshape will be one bottle for him and one for me each month. But the shakes? All mine! :-)

  262. I appreciate all the posts I just read. I have a friend who has been BUGGING me about ViSalus for about the last 3 to 4 months. I did try a sample packet he gave me and thought it tasted good; however, I will not buy it because of the way he is hounding me to order it and start selling it. I am in a dual-marketing business and one of the things I always tell new consultants is to NEVER be pushy! If people don’t want to try our product, just thank them and let them know they can always call if they change their mind. I have been looking for something to get rid of 30 pounds. I am also a flight attendant, so it is very hard for me to eat on a schedule and take anymore in my food bag than fruits and yogurt (so tired of eating fruit and yogurt every morning!!). I am going to try these Ideal Shakes. I think they will be just what I need.

  263. Hi, I was comparing this product to Shakeology and while the presentation is stellar…I dont feel like paying 130/month for it. Im looking for the next best thing NOT so much for diet/weight loss (Im at a pretty decent standing) but for a quick morning shake and mainly, I am looking for more ENERGY throughout the day WITHOUT needing coffee or energy drinks. Will this product help me with this??

    Much appreciated.

    • Depends. If your body is used to caffeine as its only source of stimulant then you will likely feel sluggish while you adjust to eating healthier.

Having a good multivitamin in the shake (most shakes do) will help many people provide natural energy. Also you can look into additional supplements with things like green tea extract (IE caffeine).

  264. I placed an order for my wife and I this morning. With shipping, it was $170, which includes 4 tubs of Chocolate Shake, a Shaker bottle, 2 bottles of Resvera Shape, and a PDF version of IdealShape for life book. If this is as good as advertised it will be a real blessing. I really loved Shakeology, but could no longer justify the cost. I got about 120 days worth of IdealShape for a little more than it costs for 30 days of Shakeology. I have really missed my morning shake, and I think it was the best way for me to kick off my day. I am also looking forward to ditching the multivitamin.

I will come back and post my comments after trying it for 30 days. Thank you in advance for honestly evaluating all the different options out there and giving those of us who can’t spend $130 a month on a supplement a choice.

    • I just wanted to follow up and say that I am very happy with this shake. It is working as well as Shakeology for me, but at a much better cost. I blend it with Skim Milk and it tastes great. I would definitely recommend this shake.

  265. After more then 2 years since your review this is still the best Meal Replacement Shake you have found? I am currently trying to decide what to get because my beach body coach is pushing the shakeology and I can’t afford it, but she said she would rather I buy from somewhere else and stay in her challenge group. She has been pretty supportive no matter what even when I bought the workout DVDs elsewhere and not from her site.

So anyway, wanted to make sure you were still supporting this one as it seemed your information might be outdated with some of the comments going all the way back to May 2011.

I read this entire page and several others a couple of nights ago and then ordered 3 tubs (1 chocolate, 2 vanilla) as that package was the best price. I received my order this morning. What quick service! I’d already had breakfast, so for lunch I blended vanilla with a handful of frozen cherries and 1 cup of vanilla almond milk. Tasty! For dinner I had chocolate with almond milk and half a frozen banana. Tasty also!

I’m a 44-year-old stay-at-home mom with two little boys (5&6). I’ve had two foot surgeries on the same foot and I’ve got some shoulder problems. (Boy! I turn 40ish and fall apart!) As of this morning I weigh 170 (height 5ft 7in) and want to lose 20 pounds before my 10 year wedding anniversary in July. We’ll be in Hawaii to celebrate. We go almost every year and I’m tired of feeling fat.

I had to try something new as I can’t exercise as much as I’d like to. Right now I get in about 30 mins of cardio 3 times a week, but if I’m on my feet too much I’m in pretty severe pain. Other than my foot, my biggest challenge in losing weight is definitely sugar and junk food. I just can’t say no to them. I’m pretty sure that as I take some weight off my foot, it will feel better and I’ll be able to become more active.

I don’t know if I’ll replace 2 meals every day, but at least one. I have high hopes that this could work as I really did notice a reduction in temptation to snack/graze today. (Moo.)

I’ll keep you updated on how it goes.

    First update: one week in!

I have lost 4 pounds and an inch and a half from my waist! Started one week ago at 170.0 and a 36 inch waist. This morning I weigh 166.0 and have a 34 1/2 inch waist. I replaced two meals a day. I haven’t gone to the gym this week (so no cardio) as I’m helping remodel a home and that takes all my spare time. I had a few treats too (2 frosted cookies and 2 mini snickers over the course of the week).

One thing I noticed right away was my evening bloating disappeared! Love that! It made wearing anything but pj pants after dinner uncomfortable.

Also, I’ve not had one blood sugar low. I was experiencing those at least 3 or 4 times a week previously. I’ve been a bit hungry from time to time, but nothing un-doable.

So far, so great! I’m going to keep it up. Very encouraging progress! :)

I’ve been on the ideal shape plan for a couple weeks now And so far I like it.
but my brother started these abcuts pills and they gave me a bottle of them.
You’re supposed to take 2 or 3 every time you eat a meal
And I was wondering if you know anything about these pills and is a good idea to take them with a mil replacement shake

can you mix this with skim milk?

  272. Hi, I was wondering if it’s ok to go on this diet while you’re breastfeeding? I know when breastfeeding you should consume around 500 extra calories a day. I’m also doing insanity almost every day. My daughter is almost a year old so I won’t be breastfeeding much longer but I really want to add a healthy diet to my exercise routine. Thanks so much.

  273. I’m not sure if anyone asked this yet…
I stumbled upon this sight while researching Body by Vi. I definitely want to try IdealShape instead. My biggest question is whether or not it is soy based. Soy does not like my body and vice versa (whey works without any unpleasant side effects).

    Mrs. R,
I looked at the ingredient list as posted, and as far as I can tell, this product is wheat/gluten free, is it not? There is a disclaimer at the bottom that it is processed in a facility that also handles wheat, but per the actual ingredient list it looks as if this product does not contain wheat. Please advise–
    Thanks,

  275. When factoring “nutrition” – why don’t you take into account the side effects of artificial flavors, sweeteners, and soy? Anyone who knows anything about nutrition knows these three products are dangerous, and NOT nutritious. And the only reports that say otherwise are “studies” funded by the manufacturers themselves. Of course they are going to say their products are fine for consumption.

    0
    • Could you link to one third-party scientific study that purports these dangers when used in moderation?

Excess of anything is bad for you, but when used in moderation we’ve found any and all of these can be a part of a healthy diet to lose weight, which is the goal of most of our readers when it comes to losing weight.

  276. I found your website a couple of nights ago while looking for a meal replacement shake I could actually afford on my budget. This one seems to do the trick, I haven’t ordered yet because I am not sure which package I would like to order. Somebody asked about Shipping price, I am in Ohio and the most expensive package (4 tubs+extras) has a shipping cost of just over $16. I’m torn between the 2-4 packages as I want to try both flavors but not sure how many of each LOL. I love all the recipes I have seen online. Sadly, the discount code no longer works (I’m assuming it’s a few years old) but with the value per tub it is a great value either way.

  277. Let me start by saying I exercise at least 4x a week for at least an hour each time. I was getting toned but not able to drop any weight. My gym sells Isagenix and I had two friends who started on it with great results! I would have jumped on the band wagon if it had not been so expensive. So I found this fabulous website and was delighted that Ideal Shape was rated better and is way cheaper than the Isagenix shakes.

I ordered a tub of Vanilla and Chocolate – I replace breakfast and lunch and have a piece of fruit and protein bar for snacks in between. I also munch on raw almonds. I’ve lost about 5 lbs in 3 weeks which I’m very happy about. I make mine in the shaker bottle with water and some ice. I haven’t tried it with milk or anything yet.

After the first two times I had the shake I felt a bit nauseous – not sure why but I figure my guts were being punched by nutrients it hadn’t had before at once. I wonder if this has happened to anyone else?

Overall, this far in I’m pretty happy with the results, the shakes taste delicious and I will be most definitely be ordering more when my stash runs out. I’ll post another update in a month or so :)

    5
    • That’s usually from the fiber. Most people starting meal replacement aren’t used to the amount of fiber in these shakes seeing as only 10% of Americans are getting their RDI of daily fiber.

      0
    • Elizabeth says:

      Hey Belle,
Thank you for posting the warning about being a little nauseous at first. That’s really helpful since the combo of medication I have to take can do that too. ;-) Thanks again.

  278. Heather W says:

I got my tub of Chocolate shake mix this weekend, and my husband guzzled the “sample” shake I mixed up! It tastes like NesQuik, I mixed it with water and it’s fantastic tasting! And the calories are low, so I don’t feel like I can’t have a snack inbetween shakes either. I used the coupon code without any problem, and am going to get on the auto-ship program, this stuff is delicious! I do add some additional fiber to my shake, because I was looking for a high fiber shake, but this is still a very well-rounded product and the taste is above and beyond the best one on the market, which really makes it easy to incorporate into your life since you’re not “getting it down” like so many others.

  279. Well, I’ve done Shakeology (got a free one week pack to try it out) and heard that IdealShape shakes tasted even better, and were cheaper. So I ordered and tried my first one today. I like them thick, so I added skim milk and ice cubes in an electric blender. I have to say, I was a little disappointed. The Shakeology was MUCH more chocolatey. And now, a few hours later, I’m having bloating and (blush) gas… something I didn’t expect, and never got with the Shakeology. So, I’m going to continue with IdealShape and see how I do this month. I have a 30-day supply. Hoping the gas goes away… that’s not such a great side effect! And I do wish it was more chocolatey… but I’ll live. Adding PB, or bananas, or strawberries to beef up the flavor a bit. I’ll check back in at the end of the month to see if I’m considering ordering again.

    0
  280. oh and no… I didn’t have a glass of water afterwards… I see that might help? We’ll see. Not sure how that fixes anything. Again, the Shakeology didn’t do this, nor is it a lactose issue (I’m not intolerant).

  281. Elizabeth says:

Hi Mrs. R. I just wanted to say that I love Shakeology (my husband swears by it) but I have a hard time getting it down due to the super thickness. I found your website by accident and I love that you give through reviews of plenty of “good” shakes. I’m going to try Ideal Shape and see what happens. Thanks again!

  282. Great site, I travel a lot, spend 4 nights a week in a hotel, how are these shakes prepared, is it something I can do in a hotel or at the business place I’m at? Very interested, tired of fast food and need something easy and fast.

    0
    • If you travel alot, you would interested to purchase a blender bottle or two. If you wanted to add fruit, you could try the those naked fruit drinks so that you don’t have to blend up fruit.

Mrs. R I have been considering ordering the Idealshape what I really need to know if this really suppress my appetite, It seems get great review I just need to replace two meals so I can loose 10 pounds before by the end of June. I want to order two but I am afraid it may not do what they say,

    0
    • This shake has the best appetite suppression of any of the shakes we’ve tried, so yes we have seen people do 2 shakes a day quite easily with it. Do not, however, replace all your meals with any of the shakes.

      0
  284. I got my shakes yesterday. I plan to have 1-2 per day. I mixed my first one with almond milk and ate an apple with it. The shake tastes very good. I do feel a little funny in my stomach, but nothing major.
Most people aren’t reporting back and I PROMISE I will. I am 46, 5’8″ and 168#. I exercise 3-5 times a week: I count walking my dogs 30 minutes 3-5 times a week. Other days I do Crossfit-type stuff with burpees and push-ups, etc. I have started menopause and have experienced the difficulty of fat loss during this time.
I eat fairly healthy; eggs/whites for breakfast, meat and veggies for lunch, meat and veggies for dinner, but if that were all I ate I wouldn’t have 15 pounds to lose so I also have pizza and beer and chips and cake occasionally.
I will check back in one month and update my progress. I am hoping for 5 pounds in that month.

    0
  285. Mrs. R Since the Idealshape shakes only have 2g of sugar, does this mean they contain artificial sweetners?

  286. Hi! I stumbled on your site looking for a weight loss shake. Since the IdealShape shake got such a great review…I decided to try it. (I would like you to know that the coupon code doesn’t work anymore–you may want to update that). Anyway, I was wondering if you were going to branch out and review the bars that some of the companies sell. And compare them the same way you do the shakes. Just a thought. I will let you know how the shake works.

    • We thought about it, but when we created this site we didn’t see other companies reviewing shakes in the way we do. There are actually some meal replacement bar review sites already out there. Quite a few, in fact.

  287. I have been skeptical for awhile now about meal replacement shakes. I have a buddy that has been trying to talk me into trying Advocare. I would really appreciate any opinions on wether you guys recommend Advocare or Idealshape. I dont exercise regularly yet but would love to shed some pounds. Can anyone help me out with this?

  288. I’m really curious about this! I work out everyday, but I have Hypothyroid so before buying this line meal replacement I need to know if it’s soy free or gluten free. If anyone can get back to me on this that’d be great! Thank you so much!

  289. Still not sure whether this is nutritionally complete enough to use as a 100% meal replacement a la Optifast. Can one drink ONLY this for a prolonged period without serious health consequences?

    0
    • Nope. And you shouldn’t be drinking Optifast either in that way. We’ve stated this many times: Do not replace all your meals with any meal replacement shake. It’s not healthy

Supplemental health products are different. For example, supplemental proteins are not complete proteins which contain the 8 essential amino acids that can only be found in meat and quinoa.

  290. Does anyone know if Ideal Shape Shakes are safe to use while breast-feeding? I can not find any data saying yes or no? Thanks ~

I started Ideal Shape March 14. I weighed 170 and had a 36 inch waist. I’ve tried to replace 2 meals a day, but that hasn’t always worked with my schedule (flipping a house right now). I also haven’t been exercising like I should. Still, as of today, I’ve lost 14 pounds and 3 1/2 inches from my waist! I’m only 6 pounds from my goal. I plan to reach my goal of 150 by the time I leave for Hawaii in about 3 weeks. Yay! Ideal Shape has definitely worked for me. :)

  293. you are obviously making profit from the sales of this shake so of course you would place it as number one. and obviously you will delete this comment ;)

    • This and EVERY shake on the site. If you click the buy now, those are affiliate links. They help pay for the site and when we made a little extra we redesigned the site with the money to make it better. We also added the 2nd blog “Ask Mrs R.” to add some fitness advice.

We don’t make a living off these reviews and all shakes get us money if people click the buy now button. If we wanted to make more money, the more expensive shakes would rank higher because our cut is based on a % of the sales.

  294. The only thing missis about your review is whether or not the shakes had a grainy taste to them. I’ve tried many shakes and just can’t do the powdered versions because it doesn’t matter how long I shake them, they still have graininess to them. :(

    0
    • Usually unless we specify that it has a grainy taste (we often mention that in the taste section on ones that do) then the shake doesn’t. Do you have a blender bottle? Those really help if grainy flavor is an issue.

  295. I just ordered the Vanilla. The coupon code is still active. I was a little shocked at the shipping costs. For “standard” shipping I paid almost $15. Since the coupon code was -$5, it helped, but the sting of still paying about $10 in shipping still hurts. But I’m crossing my fingers and hoping this works. I’ve lost 70lbs in the year and a half, but for the last 6 months have been on the worst plateau EVER, that I just cant seem to break out of. I figured I needed to “Shake” things up considerably if I want to lose the remaining 60lbs to reach my goal. Here’s to hoping this works!

  296. Just did some research through your website and found my answer. However, would love some additional imput from others who have tried this product :)

  297. Thank you for the well-written review. The user comments are helpful also! This is a great deal on a meal replacement shake, and the site had great advice to boot – it was too good to pass up. For me, meal replacement shakes are a life saver, as I always end up eating something regrettable (think: office vending machine, or fast food) if I skip my shake or breakfast altogether. Thanks again MRS R.

  298. I haven’t gotten the product yet. I have decided to try this shake instead of the shakeology, I’m currently using the Advocare products but wanted to try and find something that tastes better so I’m branching out. I wanted to thank you for posting the 5.00 discount because it helps on the SHIPPING!!! Dang cheapest to my house was 13.00 and some change. What I really wanted to say is that so far the service is OUTSTANDING!. I ordered my product at 10:06 on a saturday and it shipped in 4 MINUTES! I do a lot of online shopping and I have NEVER HAD SOMETHING ORDERED AND SHIPPED THAT FAST! I hope the shakes taste good because so far I love this company.

  299. I’m already REALLY impressed! I am a Beachbody program junkie (I really do love the variety and effectiveness of their different programs, on FOCUS T25 now and it’s great!), so as you can imagine, I see a LOT of ads for Shakeology. I was wanting a meal replacement shake to help with hunger control and to also help balance out my nutritional consumption. I’ve tried the EAS products since they are so easy to get, but the flavor is just awful to me.
After reading through the reviews (and LAUGHING my way through the Shakeology green “berry” taste review), I decided that IdealShape sounded like a winner. The $5 coupon was great, and it shipped quickly. The shakes blend up fairly smooth with a blender bottle and perfectly smooth with a full blender.
I tried the chocolate with just milk – not bad. I tried the chocolate with milk, 1 tbsp PB2 and a banana (total calories = 350) after a particularly killer workout and OMG. The flavor was great, but best of all, I was full for HOURS. Seriously, I had to remind myself to eat lunch, because I just was not that hungry yet. The vanilla by itself, also not bad, but add frozen berries and a tsp of nutmeg, and it’s like drinking dessert (also 350 calories).
All day, I have great energy and just feel good all around. If this is the side-effect of a good workout and a yummy shake, I’m IN. Thanks a ton for creating this site, such a help!

Hi, just want to let people out there know my results. I lost 55 lbs while drinking Idealshape. This shake is absolutely delicious and its something i look forward to drinking daily. So glad i found this shake and it was through this website that i found out that Idealshape existed. that was a year ago. took me about 5 or 6 months to lose the 55 lbs, granted i didnt deprive myself and there was a bad month in between there when i had guests and took a month off from my shakes cause i ate out a lot. and even with that bad month i did great. i also did incorporate exercise into my life which definitley shape my body and well we all need our exercise and it just accelerates the weightloss process. i love Idealshape!

  301. After going back and forth for two months i Finally took your suggestion and placed my order. Will check back in once I receive it and try it out,I’m so excited!!

  302. Just bought today after much research and reading the over 600 comments. Most people have not checked back in with results. I will try to! I have a few friends on shakeology. I just don’t want automatic shipping. Nor do I want to pay more when I can pay less for a comparable product.

  303. I’m curious if age is put into factor as well. I’m in my early 20′s and want to find a meal replacement shake that will give me nutrition and energy as well as curb hunger and help me lose weight. When looking at IdealShape, most of their “success stories” seem to be older males and females.

  304. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Ideal Shape. I was drinking Shakeology for about a month and aside from it being the nastiest tasting thing ever, it was “alright”. It didn’t help control my appetite, but it did do a lot of “system cleaning” if you know what I mean ;) Ideal Shape helps control my appetite and even when I do eat, I’ve noticed that I only need to eat less to satisfy my hunger and I feel full longer. I am drinking the chocolate flavored one and it tastes AMAZING!!! I’ve been drinking it for about two weeks now (one shake 5 days a week) and have lost about 3-4 pounds. I can’t wait to order my next tub of chocolate Ideal Shape…..I just wish there were more flavors.

  305. Have any of your readers lost significant weight i.e., 100lbs or more, on a meal replacement regime? If so, how would it work? All shakes and bars no food? Or a combination of the three? I would appreciate any insight you may have for me. Thanks

  306. Seem that Ideashape is good one cuz I saw comments about diabetic concerns. Does it have soy?

    0
  307. Are these shakes okay for lactose intolerant people?

    0
    • Depends. These shakes contain Whey protein which some people have issue with, others with a lactose intolerance have no trouble with whey proteins.

      0
  308. I saw above that several people asked if Ideal Shape is gluten free. According to their website:
Q: Is the IdealShake gluten free? Is it Kosher?

A: Yes. The shake is both Gluten Free and Kosher.

  309. I ordered my 90 day supply of ideal-shape last week and finally got it today. I will be starting my diet Monday morning 1/13/14, right after my physical. I am so excited to start…I will keep everyone posted :)

  310. what is your recommendation for shakes for people who already have diabetes and are taking meds. It isn’t just about the important proteins but also sugar contents.

    0
    • I would recommend printing off some of the nutrition panels of shakes and taking them to your doctor. Shakes with low sugar are probably going to be a good place to start.

  311. After looking through many different reviews sites and the ingredients in many different meal replacement shake products I chose IdealShape. I am very happy I did because the appetite suppressant has helped me stay full and I have been able to keep my calories under control. I have already lost 15 pounds and I am confident now that I can control my hunger and lose the rest.

  312. I just have to say that Ideal shape is working great for me. I have tried other things to just drop a few pounds and nothing really worked. I ate healthy foods, i worked out, i cut calories, and maybe lose a pound or two. I started out at 130 on 12/31/13 its now 2/6/14 and I weigh 119.4 pounds! So Ive lost the 10 pounds I gained since March 2013 and on my way to getting back to my weight when i got out of college at 115. I eat normal food and just do one shake a day. I have my cheat days and eat pizza and drink pop and im still losing weight. Ideal shape is the best thing ive found!

    Hey Mrs. R,

I have a lot of weight to lose (like 30 lbs) and was wondering if these would be the right shakes for me? I live a gluten-free diet and have started eating a lot healthier, but just wanted something that I could grab on the go and wouldn’t completely reck my diet. Thanks Mrs. R.

    • Courtney,

We have rated this shake the highest because we feel it is the best meal replacement shake out there. A shake for breakfast is a great way to start your day and fits in with most diets. It’s really handy to either dump into a shaker bottle really fast or a blender with other smoothie ingredients. Best of luck losing weight and being healthy!

  314. I am planning a 30-day liquid diet fast. Is the product sufficient to serve as the alternative for solid food being a meal replacement?

    0
    • Jerome,

Many people have done 30-day liquid fasts with successful results. Be careful, though, and pay attention to your body. The nutrients will help for sure.

  315. Amazed at how many people use this product then come back with their updates! How many servings are in one container?

  316. But I finding no steroids included with these the shakes. It is in Russia many steroids and the hormones are in these meal replacement shake. This is better with steroids. My coach say this.

  317. I have been using IdealShape for about 2 weeks now. The taste is ok, but unbearably sweet. I have had to cut the use to about 2/3 of the scoop and increase milk to dilute.(I also add frozen unsweetened fruit like strawbs, peaches, berries to also cut sweetness and add flavor and fiber). I have lost about 4 lbs, all in the first week, actually gained a lb in the second week..??. I was impressed that I do feel very full for several hours.–I use it at lunch time–eat a sensible breakfast and supper. My problem is twofold….This stuff is making me really constipated.(could be because I mix with milk, or the fact that EVERY time I go on a diet, this happens.) The other issue is that because I have fibromyalgia, I am not able to workout to enhance the weight loss. I do not have much to lose (about an additional 10-13 lbs), so trying to be patient. The really weird thing is that my fibro has been much worse since starting this regimen, so am getting concerned that the artificial sweetener is having something to do with this. ack. Normally I do not subscribe to artificial sweeteners being the devil himself, but this seems like a strange coincidence. My husband, who has about 50 lbs to lose, has been losing weight with this stuff(about 8 lbs in two weeks), but he claims to be feeling starved all the time and will not continue once his canister is gone. My daughter tried it for a few days, but giving me the remainder of her mix as it is causing her digestive issues, stomach cramping etc. All in all I would give it a B-. Personally I would be happier if it just wasn’t so sweet, otherwise, ok.

    • Julie,

I’ve heard people dilute the IdealShake with some extra water or almond milk like you have to make it less sweet. We also get reports that you need to drink at least 8 oz of water after drinking the shake.

      0
    • After reading the reviews here, I ordered IdealShape and just got it in mail today. 2-day shipping is always great btw. I just used my blender to mix it with water and some ice (I’m lactose intolerant and hate milk anyways), and it was unbearably sweet. It’s not disgusting, so I think I’ll continue to drink it, but compared to the way I was making my shake with Herbalife C&C + frozen strawberries, this chocolate liquid was way too artificial and sweet. I guess I’ll use 9 or 10 oz of H2O next time.

On the brighter side, it is definitely more filling than any other meal replacement drinks I’ve tried and hopefully I’ll figure some ways to improve the taste. I usually love snacking, but I’m sooooo full that I can’t even put anything else into my belly at the moment.

Next time, I’m gonna order vanilla flavor, so mixing with frozen fruits doesn’t sound scary. I just don’t know mixing strawberries with chocolate shake will turn out right. Does it taste ok?

      • Kay,

Thanks for your comments. Yeah, just have fun with it and make different concoctions for variety. That also helps you to keep using them. If it’s too sweet, try diluting it with more fluid. They also have a smoothie recipe page on their website. Have fun with it!

  318. how much does ot cost

    0
    • Hey Gloria,
Click on our link to go to their website and you’ll get a coupon. They’ve always got some sort of sale going on, but worst case you can get a tub for about $50. A tub will last 30 days, if you do one scoop per day. Doing the math, that’s a pretty inexpensive meal, too!

  319. LOVE IT! Taste great, I mix the chocolate with almond milk and a banana. I used to buy shakeology until it started to do some damage on my wallet and ideal shape taste 80% better than shakeo. It’s sweet and doesn’t taste like grass.

  320. Hi I got idealshape 1 week ago, I am so glad because I lost 4 pounds, it
tastes so yummy!!!! But I have headache at nights I wanba know if somebody
Has the same problem, is the shake or maybe because I change my eating habits,

    0
    • Glad you’re happy, AndreaT. Try drinking a full glass of water after each shake and see if that helps. It could be many things, but I’ve found over the years that people usually aren’t drinking enough water, which leads to myriad health issues and headaches.

  321. After reading through ALL of the reviews/comments, I made the decision to place my order today; I ordered the shakes and the one of the supplements.

I have listed this site under my favorites and will come back to give an update on my experience. I’m excited and cant wait!
